Simmer gently, over very low heat, for 50 minutes, stirring occasionally. Taste, and season with more salt, to taste. Remove the rosemary. Allow to cool, then store in the refrigerator, until ready to use. HOW TO MAKE A GREAT VEGETARIAN POKE BOWL For each bowl: 1 1/4 cups cooked short-grain rice. 1/3 cup watermelon poke. 1/2 cup organic tofu, cubed. 1/4 cup sprouts or micro greens. 1/4 cup lightly-cooked asparagus (or other seasonal veg.) 1/4 small avocado, thinly sliced. other toppings: soy sauce, sesameCOCONUT RUM CAKE
A special rum cake baked with equal parts coconut, sugar, and flour, and lots of rum. Imagine a toasted coconut macaroon in cake form and you've got the idea. Great vegan recipes are like gold. Especially when they feature whole foods, and lots of plants. This type of cooking supports your health and overall well-being in important ways. No meat? No dairy? No eggs? Don't sweat it. There are many other ingredients to get excited about when you're cooking and eating. 150 SIDE DISHES THAT PERFECTLY ACCENT A MEAL Side dishes tend to fall into two camps. PICKLED TURMERIC EGGS Instructions. In a small saucepan bring the vinegar, water, sugar, salt, and turmeric to a simmer. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Place the onion, peppercorns, and eggs in a glass quart jar.
