RUSTIC LARD BREAD
Instructions. In a bowl, combine dry ingredients ( flour, sugar, salt and dry yeast ). In a small pot, melt the lard, and add both lard and water to dry ingredients and mix, using spatula. Cover the dough and leave aside for 30 minutes. Lightly grease the bread pan with lard ( 10.5 x 4 inches, 7 cups volume ). AMISH WHITE BREAD GARLIC KNOTS Place the knots onto the oiled baking paper and egg wash them. Bake for 15 – 16 minutes. Repeat steps 5 to 10 with the rest of the dough. When the second batch is baking, mix the ingredients for the garlic spread. While the knots are still warm, brush the spread over them and serve. Save.
