AAVSO MEETINGS
The AAVSO usually organizes two meetings each year, one in the fall (usually late-October) and one in the spring (usually April or May). Meetings are held in different locations each year. This makes it more convenient for members and observers from different regions of the US (and abroad) to attend. Anyone interested in the AAVSO and itsFOR OBSERVERS

The AAVSO Binocular Program consists of 153 stars in the northern and southern hemispheres. They are mostly semi-regulars and Miras, with a few other types sprinkled in. Most of the stars range between 3.0 and 9.5V and can be observed best using simple hand held binoculars. The sequences for these stars have beenSUCCESS! NOW WHAT?
So I recorded my first successful transit this week. FYI, I followed the AIJ Cookbook and ran into no issues processing and plotting the data, so thanks for that simple and direct resource. Step 1: 01:15 Jan 10 Local Time Step 2: N/A Step 3: 01:15 - 2 hrs = 23:15 Jan 9 UT Step 4: 23:15 - 12 hrs = 11:15 Jan 9 GMAT Step 5: decimal = .4688 Step 6: JD for Jan 9, 2010 = 2455206 Final Result: 2455206.4688 Example 2 — Observation from Vancouver, BC Canada (8 hrs west of Greenwich) THE MYTHS OF URSA MAJOR, THE GREAT BEAR The Roman Myth. A Roman myth involves both bears, Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. A beautiful maiden, Callisto, hunting in the forest, grew tired and laid down to rest. The god Jupiter noticed her and was smitten with her beauty. Jupiter's wife, Juno, became extremely jealous of Callisto. Some time later, Juno discovered that Callisto had given AAVSO -- VARIABLE STAR PLOTTER Plot a Quick Chart. What is the Name, Designation or AUID of the object? TELESCOPE CALENDAR TOOL Now that I am processing the K28 images and uploading them to VPhot, I send an email as soon as they are done to Ken Mogul and Doug Welch. Two things here for future thought are 1- If there is anyone else using these data for their project I don't know to email them (I just happen to be aware of their project) and, 2- I still don't know when there is a night of data to process. VSX SEARCH BY RA ONLY Hi. Is there a way to extract certain types of variables by RA only. I would like to retrieve all EW stars from RA 00 00 00 to RA 00 59 59. Is there a way to do this?
