AMERICAN BOARD OF OTOLARYNGOLOGY The Otolaryngology Training Examination (OTE) is a closed-book, proctored, timed examination which is offered once a year. Any resident, practicing otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeon, or other interested physician may register for the OTE. The OTE provides an assessment of current knowledge in all areas of otolaryngology-headand neck surgery.
AMERICAN BOARD OF OTOLARYNGOLOGY The purpose of the oral examination is to evaluate the candidate’s knowledge and reasoning skills to obtain and interpret data, arrive at a diagnosis, and develop a management plan for a variety of otolaryngologic conditions. The oral examination covers practice focus areas including allergy, head and neck, laryngology, otology /audiology
