CASE SUMMARY A-3024

FROZEN SOULS
Fertility researchers had already proven that human embryos could be frozen in liquid nitrogen, thawed, transplanted, brought to full term, and produce normal, healthy children (the first in 1984, now many thousands worldwide). The Church’s position was that these fertilized embryos had souls, were humans, and destruction of them wasmurder.

ALCOR'S FIRST CRYOPRESERVATION: FRED CHAMBERLAIN, JR. Alcor’s First Cryopreservation: Fred Chamberlain, Jr. July 16, 2006. Thirty years ago, today, a cryonic suspension took place in Southern California that reflected years of preparation and readiness. Since then, many advances have been made, but then, this represented the best we could do. The pictures and brief comments you see below are,at
DECLARATION OF INTENT TO BE CRYOPRESERVED If you think you may want cryonics, but haven’t yet chosen a provider, you can help make it possible for others to sign you up for cryonics in an emergency situation by signing a Declaration of Intent to be Cryopreserved. While it is always best to make cryonics arrangements while you are still healthy, if you ever become seriously ill and incapacitated, a previously-executed Declaration of A BRIEF SCIENTIFIC INTRODUCTION TO CRYONICS Cryonics is the practice of frozen storage of human beings, if necessary, for hundreds of years, until they can be revived and cured of whatever illness or injury caused their legal death. Cryonic suspension is the procedure by which a patient is frozen after legaldeath.
DORA KENT CASE
Cryonics, September, October, November 1992. by Michael Perry, Ph.D. The greatest crisis in the history of Alcor, and one of the major turning points of cryonics, began in December 1987, when 83-year-old Dora Kent was suspended. A retired dressmaker, and mother of longtime cryonics activist Saul Kent, Mrs. Kent had been ailing for severalyears.
SUSPENSION FAILURES: LESSONS FROM THE EARLY YEARS Not one of the many suspension failures was a neuro. Of seventeen documented freezings through 1973, all but one ended in failure, while maybe five or six later cases, some of them privately maintained, were later terminated (or were continued under questionableFROZEN SOULS

WELCOME TO ALCOR
The Alcor Life Extension Foundation is the world leader in cryonics, cryonics research, and cryonics technology. Cryonics is the practice of using ultra-cold temperature to preserve a human body with the intent of restoring good health when the technology becomes available to do so. Alcor is a non-profit organization located in Scottsdale, Arizona, founded in 1972.WHAT IS CRYONICS?
Cryonics is an experimental procedure that preserves a human being using the best available technology for the purpose of saving his/her life. We believe medical technology will advance further in coming decades than it has in the past several centuries, enabling it to heal damage at the cellular and molecular levels and to restore full physical and mental health.CRYONICS & SCIENCE
Banking of transplantable organs at low temperature is a recognized specialty of the science of cryobiology. Alcor applies breakthroughs in organ banking research to reduce cryopreservation injury, making it easier for future medical technology to revive our patients. Alcor encourages and supports evidence-based research such as these new memory preservation study results . WHAT CRYONICS IS NOT Cryonics as practiced by Alcor is not an interment method or mortuary practice. Alcor intervenes in the dying process as soon as possible after legal death to preserve the brain as well as possible. Alcor seeks to prevent loss of information within the brain that encodes memory and personal identity, which is the true boundary between lifeand death.
