BLACK FUTURES AND SPIRIT GUARDIANS IN BRIANNA MCCARTHY’S Black Futures and Spirit Guardians in Brianna McCarthy’s ‘Vétiver Night Women’. Angelique Nixon reviews the exhibition ‘Vétiver Night Women’ by Trinidadian artist Brianna McCarthy, which was held at the Medulla Art Gallery, Port of Spain between May 14 – June 5, 2015. How does the spontaneous factor into the new figures? Manuel: The opportunity of that show didn’t really come to me I created it.
