Between 1983 and 2002, a printed booklet was published annually and sold at W4A, W4B, and W4C/W5A Conclaves. After Mr. Tabb passed away, his project text files were donated and AREA 12-A - AREA 4 HISTORY - ORDER OF THE ARROW - BOY Area 12-A was organized around the time the BSA itself was organized into 12 Regions in 1948. The WWW, better known as the Order of the Arrow in 1924 1, was one of hundreds of Summer Camp Indian societies that sprang up as the Scouting program expanded.. Many Pre-OA societies have vanished, leaving little to know about them. In the traditional Area 4 of the Southwest United States, many existed.SECTION W4A
Section W4A served the Western and Northern areas of BSA Area 4 from 1973 to 2008. Section W4A was formed in 1973 from Area 12-E and comprised the same area, Lodges, and borders.. AREAS - AREA 4 HISTORY - ORDER OF THE ARROW - BOY SCOUTS The Arizona lodges including Papago 494, Wipila Wiki 432, and Pang 532, were put in Area XIIF (known as Area 7 for about 5 years). By 1961, Area XIIF also included Victorio 177, Nebagamon 312, Chee Dodge 503 and Na Ko Na 551. This was the maximum number of lodges. Na Ko Na became inactive in 1962, but was reactivated as Salado 551 Lodge in1965.
AREA 12-E - AREA 4 HISTORY - ORDER OF THE ARROW - BOY The area that comprised Area 12-E was original part of Area 12-A. The first Area 12-A Chief, Loren Tarvin, was from Tamet Lodge # 225. George Aunger from Siwinis Lodge # 252 also served as the Area 12-A Lay Adviser. Tamet Lodge # 225. also was the Service Lodge for the 1952 Area 12-A Conference. As that Area became too large, Area 12-E was split from the original Area 12-A in 1955. CAHUILLA LODGE # 127 (1973 Cahuilla Lodge # 127 was formed in 1973 from the merger of Tahquitz Lodge # 127 and Wisumahi Lodge # 478.An exact date of founding is elusive. While California Inland Empire Council was formed on January 1, 1973, the Lodges had a year to complete their merger.MICHAEL NATHAN

The WWW, better known as the Order of the Arrow in 1924 1, was one of hundreds of Summer Camp Indian societies that sprang up as the Scouting program expanded.. Many Pre-OA societies have vanished, leaving little to know about them. In the traditional Area 4 of the Southwest United States, many existed. AREA 12-E - AREA 4 HISTORY - ORDER OF THE ARROW - BOY The area that comprised Area 12-E was original part of Area 12-A. The first Area 12-A Chief, Loren Tarvin, was from Tamet Lodge # 225. George Aunger from Siwinis Lodge # 252 also served as the Area 12-A Lay Adviser. Tamet Lodge # 225. also was the Service Lodge for the 1952 Area 12-A Conference. As that Area became too large, Area 12-E was split from the original Area 12-A in 1955. CAHUILLA LODGE # 127 (1973 Cahuilla Lodge # 127 was formed in 1973 from the merger of Tahquitz Lodge # 127 and Wisumahi Lodge # 478.An exact date of founding is elusive. While California Inland Empire Council was formed on January 1, 1973, the Lodges had a year to complete their merger. TAHQUITZ LODGE # 127 (1938 Tahquitz Lodge # 127 was the 4th Order of the Arrow Lodge chartered in California, beginning on July 1, 1938. The Lodge was formed from their Pre-OA Society, Camp Emerson’s Tribe of Tahquitz. Many early membership cards were listed as “Tribe of Tahquitz Lodge.”. The first Lodge Chief, Charles Berry, was only 15 at the time of hisservice.

Papago Lodge # 494 was formed in 1953, chartered to the Catalina Council in Tucson, Arizona. In 1965, Victorio Lodge # 177, primarily including Cochise County in Southern Arizona, was absorbed into Papago Lodge. The Order of the Arrow has a rich and inspirational history in the Southwest United States, and this website continues to commemorate that Sprit of Brotherhood, Cheerfulness and Service. From the first Area U Conference to the Conclaves of the present, these intra-lodge events have inspired Arrowmen for many generations. It is out wish to document these events that have meant so much forso many people.
