ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLE (TGB) 30 SCANIA SBA 110 : ARSENALEN All-terrain vehicle (Tgb) 30 Scania SBA 110. In 1965, the Chief of the Army established the requirements for a new off-road car generation. In addition to increased load CAR, ARMOURED, M8 “GREYHOUND” : ARSENALEN Car, Armoured, M8 “Greyhound” The ”Greyhound” was conceived as a light anti-tank vehicle but it soon became obvious that it was too light to fight German tanks. Different types of guns, barrel lengths and calibres etc. were examined and in March 1944 36 ea of the SAV m/43 were ordered from Scania-Vabis. Amphibious Car 101 is a transport vehicle that combines good off-road accessibility with the ability to swim. It was originally intended as a maintenance vehicle for coastal fighter battalions, but was used as a towing vehicle for the Arte 719 mobile artillery command system. When it was discontinued in 1985, Amphibious Car 101 was taken out of PANSARVÄRNSKANONVAGN (PVKV) M/43 : ARSENALEN Pansarvärnskanonvagn (Pvkv) m/43. The armoured brigade organization planned in the early 1940s should contain independent tank destroyer companies. The aim was to strengthen the tank units, copying the German example. Thanks to their flexible frame, they were able to climb over 60 cm diagonal STRIDSVAGN CHIEFTAIN MK 10 : ARSENALEN Stridsvagn Chieftain Mk 10. The Chieftain was the first British tank designed to shoulder both traditional roles; heavily armed and armoured, as well as agile. This was to be achieved using a 120 mm gun and the tank having a weight of not more than 45 tonnes. The Chieftain has a rifled 120 mm gun, but its weight increased with almost 10tonnes.
STRIDSVAGN (STRV) 101 The British Centurion was chosen. It was developed at the end of WWII but never used in the war. The Centurion was to become one of the most well known and widely used tanks. The first Swedish Centurions. (Mk 3 with an 84 mm gun) was delivered in 1953. Of the more modern and better armed Mk 10 (Strv 101) 110 were delivered in 1960-1961. TERRÄNGBPERSONBIL (TGB) M/43 Terrängbpersonbil (Tgb) m/43 – Volvo TPV. In 1943, the Swedish Armed forces needed an all-terrain command car. The 934 (military designation) was the basic model with a standard truck bed, the 914 was an airforce crash tender, and the 965 became a heavy and versatile wrecker. STRIDSVAGN T-55 : ARSENALEN Stridsvagn T-55. In 1944, the SSSR started developing a tank to be armed with a 100 mm gun. One problem was that the shell size meant fewer rounds could be carried. Development of the T-55 predecessor, the T-54, started in 1945 and was produced, after a faltering start, until 1955. During this period the characteristic turret shape wasdeveloped.

Pansarbil m/40 – Lynx. 1939 30 Lynx armoured cars were ordered from Landsverk, who licensed the production to Volvo. The designation became Pansarbil m/40. Lynx originated from a Danish specification. The largest portion of the Danish order were confiscated and were designated m/39. The body is welded from armour up to 13 mm thick. An exhibition about the history of the local Regiment (Södermanland regiment) tell the story from 14 th century until 2005 when the regiment was closed. THE FIGURE MUSEUM : ARSENALEN The figure museum. A fantastic collection of tin miniatures in tableaus showing scenes from the stone age and onward to the coronation of Gustav Vasa, an 18th century bale at the Haga castle and a guards parade. It also shows you the production of tin figures as toys, from the 18th century until the 1920s. TEMPORARY EXHIBITION : ARSENALEN Temporary exhibition. The Winter War 1939-1940. An exhibition about the Finnish winter war. The exhibition is on view until March 13, 2020 CHILDRENS ARSENALEN : ARSENALEN Childrens Arsenalen. For the smaller children, or the playful one, we have our play room where you’re allowed to climb into a real sized tank, try on some military clothes. The armament was two Bofors 40 mm anti-aircraft guns m/36 an export success during the war. Deliveries commenced in 1947. The turret was a very good design, but the total weight exceeded the capability of the tracks — the same type as for Strv m/40K, but theLvkv

FOUR WHEEL DRIVE MODEL B : ARSENALEN Four Wheel Drive Model B. This type of truck was used by the American forces during WWI and thus these vehiclescame to Europe. After the war, the trucks in Europe were not brought back to the USA, partly because the US vehicle industry did not want the market flooded bysurplus trucks.
