“In five years’ time, if the Super League Grand Final or the Challenge Cup final is still competed by some small towns in the north of England… where we are going to sell that to is the interesting point,” McDermott said after that win.“I know there are a few people opposed to us being in the comp, but we can’t please everybody, can we?”The demise of the dreamToronto’s rapid rise to Super League had, however, not been as smooth as those results might suggest.Rightly or wrongly, the club’s attitude was perceived as arrogant by some and founder Perez left at the end of their first season after differences of opinion with owner David Argyle over the way some aspects of the Wolfpack were run. Although denied immediate entry into Super League, instead having to work their way up from the part-time third tier, Toronto made no secret about their desire to reach the top level. To start with, CEO and founder Eric Perez convinced former Leigh Centurions boss Paul Rowley to join as head coach and three-time Super League-winning coach Brian Noble to come in as director of rugby, followed by making headlines with big-name signings like Fuifui Moimoi and attracting blue-chip sponsorship from Air Transat.Rowley was even invited to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at a home game for Major League Baseball side Toronto Blue Jays soon after the Wolfpack’s launch, underlining how they were already transcending rugby league’s bubble prior to even taking to the field.- Advertisement – Toronto had plenty of highs and lows during their time in the British professional game Toronto created a memorable game-day experience at Lamport Stadium Former Wigan Warriors wing Brian Carney says he is disappointed at Super League clubs voting against allowing Toronto Wolfpack back into the competition for 2021 Unconfirmed rumours of creditors going unpaid began to swirl too, while Argyle would also step down as chairman and CEO in June 2019 after making a racist comment towards Swinton Lions’ Jose Kenga following a match in Canada, although he remained as owner. To further underline their on-field intent following promotion to Super League though, Toronto drew more global attention when they unveiled cross-code superstar Sonny Bill Williams at a packed press conference at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium in November 2019.The New Zealander had signed a two-year contract which reportedly made him the highest-paid rugby player in either league or union, but he would only play five games for the club before the 2020 season was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, with Toronto bottom of the table after losing all six Super League matches.Worse was to follow though. Being unable to play home games due to travel restrictions or access the UK government’s furlough scheme and Argyle’s investments being wiped out, coupled with having no access to central funding as part of the deal which saw them admitted to the British professional structure in the first place, proved terminal. Toronto’s players celebrate winning promotion to Super League “Eventually, the inequality of the Toronto deal was going to rear its head, but the pandemic kind of accelerated that,” Perez, who is now spearheading the entry of another Canadian team into League One for 2021, told Sky Sports in July. With less than two weeks to go until the Super League season resumed on August 2, the Wolfpack announced their withdrawal from the rest of 2020 with the intention to return the following year, followed by several players leaving – Williams included, re-joining Sydney Roosters – while others in the squad remain in the dark after going months without being paid. However, the business plan put forward by prospective new ownership group head Carlo LiVolsi was rejected at a Super League board meeting this week, ending any prospect of readmission for Toronto and leaving questions over the viability of rugby league’s North American expansion ambitions following an independent review instigated by the competition.“Its findings were unanimous – that operating a team in a fiercely competitive North American sports market was non-strategic and added no material incremental revenue to Super League in the short or medium term,” Super League executive chairman Robert Elstone said. “If you have a dream, you’ve got to dream as big as you can,” Noble, who departed that role in February this year, said at the time. “If you speak to everyone involved, their goal is Super League – and once you’re in there, you’ve a chance of winning it. We want to be right up there.”That dream may have seemed a long way away from being realised during the club’s first competitive match when they were pushed all the way by amateurs Siddal in the Challenge Cup, eventually prevailing 14-6 thanks to late tries from Greg Worthington and Adam Sidlow.Once the League One season got underway though, Toronto never looked back from a 76-0 win away to London Skolars and went the regular season unbeaten, followed by clinching the title in the Super Eights phase with a 26-16 defeat to York City Knights and a 26-26 draw with Keighley Cougars the only blots on their record. The signs of establishing a fanbase were good too with the club attracting an average crowd of just shy of 7,000 for home matches at Lamport Stadium, with 2018 replicating those figures as Toronto took the Championship by storm and built a pre and post-match game-day experience that went beyond just the 80 minutes of action on the field. Just over four-and-a-half years later, Canada’s first professional rugby league club found themselves out in the cold, denied readmission to Super League for 2021 after their business plan was rejected by the competition’s board by an 8-4 majority with one abstention. It was an unedifying end to the Wolfpack’s relatively short but eventful time in the British professional game, which saw them climb from League One to Super League in the space of just three seasons before major financial problems hit. Here, we take a look back at the rise and fall of one of the sport’s boldest-ever ventures…‘You’ve got to dream as big as you can’- Advertisement – On April 27, 2016, Toronto Wolfpack were introduced to the world of rugby league at an online press conference which created a blaze of publicity.- Advertisement – 2:44 Former Wigan Warriors wing Brian Carney says he is disappointed at Super League clubs voting against allowing Toronto Wolfpack back into the competition for 2021 The Canadian side finished top of the table at the end of the regular season to secure a place in the Qualifiers, although they fell short of back-to-back promotions after a 4-2 defeat at home to London Broncos in the Million Pound Game.Rowley’s decision to depart as head coach following the conclusion of the season saw Super League-winning former Leeds Rhinos boss Brian McDermott take over at the helmThis time around there was no stopping the Wolfpack as they again finished top of the table and qualified for the Million Pound Game, holding off Featherstone Rovers to win 24-6 in front of a record 9,974 crowd at Lamport Stadium.Having now earned a place at the top table, McDermott was forthright about what he believed this meant for the future of rugby league. It was a tough start to life in Super League for Toronto Toronto’s final match was a win over Huddersfield in the Challenge Cup In an odd coincidence, the Wolfpack’s time on the pitch ended how it started – with a win in the Challenge Cup, having beaten Huddersfield Giants 18-0 before the 2020 campaign was interrupted. For many fans though, it will perhaps go down as another ‘what might have been?’ for rugby league. – Advertisement– read more

Likewise, Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono appears to support Supari’s demands regarding the H5N1 virus-sharing issue, but not her conspiracy allegations, according to the AFP report. Dino Patti Djalal, presidential spokesman, told the news service, “In Indonesia, we recognize that there are issues to be resolved in the world health system, but certainly we don’t believe in conspiracy theories.” At a recent book discussion, Supari told the crowd that wealthy nations are creating “new viruses” that are meant to infect people in poorer nations in order to help drug companies sell more vaccines, according to a Sep 7 AFP report. Sep 8, 2008 (CIDRAP News) Indonesian health minister Siti Fadilah Supari, who is at the center of an international controversy over sharing of H5N1 avian influenza virus samples, recently claimed that developed countries are creating new viruses as a means of building new markets for vaccines, according to an Agence France-Presse (AFP) report. “The conspiracy between superpower nations and global organizations isn’t a theory, isn’t rhetoric, but it’s something I’ve experienced myself,” Supari told the crowd, according to AFP. The WHO’s H5N1 count for Indonesia is 135 cases and 110 deaths, but media reports have placed the numbers at 137 cases and 112 deaths. Jun 5 CIDRAP News story “Indonesia quits offering prompt notice of H5N1 cases” Jul 15 CIDRAP News story “Indonesia details reasons for withholding H5N1 viruses” In early June Supari said the government would no longer report human H5N1 cases and deaths promptly to the WHO. Media outlets reported that she planned to report cases after they were reported in the news media or only at 6-month intervals. In early 2007 Indonesia announced that it had stopped sharing H5N1 virus samples with the WHO. The country based its action on what it saw as a lack of access to pandemic vaccines that are produced by pharmaceutical companies in developed nations from the shared samples. A WHO working group formed to address the concerns of Indonesia and other developing countries has met several times to work out a virus-sharing agreement between global health officials and developing countries, but has made little progress. He said there is no evidence to back up Supari’s claim that wealthy nations are conspiring against developing nations to boost profits for pharmaceutical companies. “I really can’t explain it 100 percent, but probably she received the wrong information from the wrong person,” Subandrio told AFP. In other developments, Supari told Antara, Indonesia’s national news agency, that she hopes that negotiations on a material transfer agreement on the sharing of H5N1 samples can be settled at the WHO’s next working group meeting in November, according to a Sep 5 report from Xinhua, China’s state news agency. In February, Supari published a 182-page book titled Time for the World to Change: God is Behind the Avian Influenza Virus, which alleges that the United States intended to produce a biological weapon with the H5N1 virus and the World Health Organization (WHO) was conspiring to profit from H5N1 vaccines. Meanwhile, Amin Subandrio, a scientist who heads Indonesia’s avian flu committee, said the government is also withholding the H5N1 virus from the country’s own research community, according to the AFP report. “The minister of health is keeping the virus in the laboratories but they are giving no access to Indonesian scientists at the moment,” he said. See also: She said the agreement should recognize the country’s property rights to the virus, detail who will use the virus and what will be done with it, and spell out the financial and other benefits of the H5N1 research, Xinhua reported. Subandrio told AFP that though he supports Indonesia’s concern about developing nations’ lack of access to vaccine supplies and believes changes to the international virus-sharing system are needed, Supari’s stances arerisky. read more

As part of the project ‘Get to know your country’, the Association of Croatian Tourist Guides (ZDTVH), with the support of the Croatian Tourist Board, on the occasion of the Day of International Recognition of Croatia, January 14, 2018 (Sunday) starting at 12:00 p.m. to organize free guided tours in all cities where tourist guide associations operate – members of ZDTVH.In particular, it is about the organization of free guided tours by local tourist guides in each city, and all guided tours with tourist guides will start at the same time. The guides are intended for the local population to get to know their city and become ambassadors of Croatian tourism, but of course all visitors and tourists. So far, 30 cities have joined this great initiative, and I sincerely hope that all cities will be involved, because this is an extremely important topic, getting to know your city and turning citizens into ambassadors of Croatian tourism. “In this way, we want to give citizens a special gift throughout Croatia, congratulate the Day of International Recognition of Croatia and point out the importance of tourism professionals for international reputation as well as the importance of protected sites. In the light of the new Law on the provision of services in tourism which implements European directives, protected sites are the only areas where history and cultural heritage and national identity can only be represented by tourist guides educated in the Republic of Croatia.Kristina Niuć Prka, president of the Association of Croatian Tourist Guides, added and added that she hoped that all cities from Slavonia, through Zagreb, Lika, Kvarner, Istria, Dalmatia to Dubrovnik would join the initiative. “Tourist guides interpret cultural heritage, and it is cultural heritage that sets us apart from globalization.”Concludes Nuić Prka.Get to know your city and be ambassadors of Croatian tourismA great tourist story and a very important segment in the mosaic of our tourism that we have absolutely neglected. The city is the people, so the local people are tourism and the best ambassadors of Croatian tourism. The locals give rhythm and pulse to the destination, and guests want to get to know us and our culture of living, customs, our stories… because that is the very essence of tourism. An ambassador of Croatian tourism is a person who is proud of our country, history, customs, culture, heritage, successes – proud to be a Croat. An ambassador of Croatian tourism is a person who promotes his tradition and his region, who respects himself, because if we do not respect ourselves, others will not respect us either. Anyone can be an ambassador of Croatian tourism, you can also be one. When a guest asks you what they can see in your city be prepared to refer them to all the local stories. Tell him a story about your tradition, culture and customs. Recommend him the great tourist stories he can experience in your city or surroundings. Also, in order to be an ambassador of Croatian tourism, you do not have to be a tourist worker. If guests on the street ask you for advice, you can certainly boast of some local tourist stories or at least refer it to the tourist board in the city.Get to know your city and all the hidden stories it tells. Trust me, you will be pleasantly surprised. Be a tourist in your own city in order to experience it as well as possible and thus tell that story and experience to our tourists. Let us be proud of our identity, history, heritage, culture because we certainly have something to be proud of.Be ambassadors of Croatian tourism, tell stories.Related news:DO WE CARE ABOUT THE STORY WE TELL TO OUR TOURISTS?BE A HOST IN FAMILY ACCOMMODATION, NOT REAL ESTATE AGENTSCOMPETITION FOR CROATIAN TOURISM AMBASSADOR OPENED – APPLY!

<a

| tiwmdhui
Today began the largest annual gathering of family tourism, the Family Accommodation Forum (FOS), which aims to educate, present news in legislation and network participants with exhibitors of products and services relevant to family accommodation, organized by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce and the Family Tourism Association. At the opening of FOS, Josip Zaher emphasized that family tourism is important for the progress of the entire economy, and this is evidenced by the fact that the hosts and providers of family accommodation in the past year have achieved excellent tourism results with as many as 35 million overnight stays. “It is a market that has experienced a significant upswing in recent years. The first family accommodation forum was organized in 2014 in Opatija, when there were less than 60.000 family accommodation facilities in Croatia. Today, Croatia has more than 92.000 household accommodation providers, which have over 540.000 beds in their facilities. It is clear how important family tourism is not only for tourism, but also in terms of the strength of small businesses and the progress of the overall economy. In addition, it represents a significant potential for further positioning of Croatia as a successful tourist destination throughout the year, especially through continuous investment in service quality.”, Said Josip Zaher, Vice President of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce for Tourism, Trade and Finance at the opening of the 4th National Forum of Family Accommodation organized by the Croatian Chamber of Commerce.Vice President of the Croatian Chamber of Commerce for Tourism, Trade and Finance Josip Zaher; Source: HGK.We should certainly praise the statement of the Minister of Tourism Cappelli, who clearly and loudly calmed the “passions” between hoteliers and hosts in family accommodation, emphasizing that there is room for everyone in the market and that the focus is on quality and diverse accommodation. “Croatia has something that others do not have, and that is family accommodation. Family accommodation that is synonymous with the authenticity of the tourist experience and through it we have a great opportunity and potential to show our guests that Croatia really has a lot to offer. Our goal is to transform the tourist system, which on the one hand will connect stakeholders in tourism in the desire to create a complete tourist destination and on the other hand take into account the individuality of our products and their capabilities, and this is where family accommodation is very important.”, Said the Minister of Tourism Gari Capelli, adding that he believes that this segment of our offer, valued at 15 billion euros, will be even more competitive in the future, through further pooling of accommodation capacities and connection with local providers, and thus make a great contribution to the success of overall Croatian tourism.”The Croatian market is one of the largest and with the highest growth rates in terms of family tourism in Europe. We anticipate that this growth will continue in the future, but we also count on regulatory problems, states want to protect hotel tourism, collect more taxes and have more control over family accommodation which could seriously hamper our sector. Fortunately, this is not happening in Croatia but in Spain, Italy and France. I am glad that I can point out Croatia as an example at the EU level in terms of good regulation in the field of family tourism, you have shown the way to others in which direction to go”, He emphasized Carlos Villaro Lassen, Secretary General of the European Family Tourism Association (EHHA), saying that the quality of the offer of the Croatian family tourism sector is evidenced by the fact that as many as four of the ten best holiday homes in Europe for 2017 are located in our country.Minister Cappelli announced the recategorization of family accommodation and favorable HBOR loansMinister of Tourism Gary Capelli; Source: HGK.Addressing family-run hosts, Minister Cappelli said he expects the tourism sector to grow by 5 to 7 percent this year, saying more emphasis should be placed on extending the season by promoting continental and health tourism. He also announced the recent publication of the TOMAS survey. which will give us a clearer picture of the position of our tourism, and according to the Minister of Tourism, tourist spending has increased and the motive for coming is no longer primarily the sun and the sea, which is more than great news. “Currently, the new Law on Hospitality is in the second reading in Parliament, and when it is adopted in May or June, the recategorization of family accommodation will be presented, all with the aim of raising the quality of households. Also, in the second half of the year, HBOR’s favorable loans for hosts in family accommodation will start, where the interest rate will not exceed 3 percent, probably from 2.3 to 2.5 percent, with a grace period of one year and a period of 10 years. The goal of more favorable loans is to support family accommodation so that it develops better and better through investment in raising the quality of accommodation and services.Cappelli pointed out.The second day of the 4th FOS will be marked by B2B workshops and interesting lectures, and as tourism is one of the first branches to accept all new trends and technological solutions, it is certainly more than important to inform and educate ourselves in order to be competitors. Also, FOS is a place where you can share your experiences and thoughts with colleagues in family accommodation and hear all the new information and trends in the global market. read moreRead More »

The island of Pag will soon be presented through a promotional film, which is being shot by the joint efforts of the tourist boards of the City of Pag, Novalja, Stara Novalja and the Municipality of Povljana. Finally synergy. The first shots of this film were shot in the town of Pag, and it was attended by members of the Cultural and Artistic Society Družina, Benedictine nuns from the monastery of St. Margarita, lacemaker Tonći Maržić, Martina Pernar from the Pag cheese factory and cyclists and Nordic walkers. The tourist boards of the island of Pag have been cooperating for more than two years when they realized that it is best and most effective to promote the entire island of Pag, not individual areas of tourist boards, because visitors are not interested in borders but what they offer. The island of Pag has a really original and rich tourist offer with a lot of specifics and it is a unique attitude to present themselves together. Each tourist board will present what they consider to be the most attractive because the entire offer cannot fit in a promo film. At the same time, each TZ will have a separate, shorter promo film from its area. Basically, the message of this movie is “One island and one common vision” which says it all, and it is a continuation of the previous successful and quality cooperation. After the coronavirus, we will continue to further promote the island of Pag within our capabilities with, as you could see for yourself, our tourist trump cards that we really have progress. But, like other tourist boards, we cannot currently predict visits for this year, although we are very optimistic about the data that the islands are the most visited. In conversations with our agencies and renters, we get a variety of data – from those whose reservations have been canceled to those who have filled in July and August. We wholeheartedly hope that our wishes will come true “, said Karavanic at the end. Another major project is the Agreement on the Association of Local Tourist Boards of the Island of Pag (Pag Tourist Board, Novalja Tourist Board, Povljana Tourist Board, Kolan Tourist Board and Stara Novalja Tourist Board) concluded in the implementation of the project Development of OUTDOOR tourism on the island of Pag. In other words, this agreement means the development and shaping of the island of Pag into a unique, harmonized and market-affirmed destination for outdoor (adventure, active) tourism, especially cycling and trails (racing-hiking) tourism by development stages until 2023, for which prior consent given by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia. This is the first step in applying for the funds of the Fund for United Tourist Boards, which amounts to about 50 million kuna. “For two years, the island of Pag has been presented at tourist fairs together – a joint visual was created, which proved to be successful because we presented ourselves at several tourist fairs and at the same time saved money. There are also some joint events – I single out the Pag project on the menu, which was held by the Tourist Board of the City of Pag for the first time last year with the aim of promoting the gastronomic offer of the island of Pag. This year the project was supposed to be extended to other tourist boards, but due to the corona virus we unfortunately had to give up. The project is being done in cooperation with the Bartul Kašić High School – catering, the Association of Craftsmen of Pag and Novalja and the tourist boards of Pag, Novalja, Povljana and Kolan. TZG Pag and TZG Novalje have been jointly organizing the International Rowing Regatta Osmerci on Pag for two years now. ” “The film should be completed in about twenty days, after which the promotion would begin. Of course, we will promote ourselves through social networks, portals, etc. The recording is the responsibility of the company Moonstone Production from Solin, which is extremely satisfied with the shots taken so far. ”, emphasized the director Karavanić. After the town of Pag, the shooting continued in the area of the Tourist Board of the town of Novalja, after which the team moved to Stara Novalja, and the last shots will be shot on Friday in the municipality of Povljana. One island and one shared vision – that the island of Pag is a tourist destination. In this context, a promotional film can certainly help and motivate visitors to visit the island of Pag. Destination promotion is certainly the main activity of tourist boards, so shooting a promo film can only bring benefits, both for this season and in the future. “The city of Pag will be presented in the film as a city of lace, since Pag lace is an intangible cultural heritage protected by UNESCO, with its unique view of the old town of Pag reminiscent of Dubrovnik, beautiful Pag folk costumes, Pag dance, Pag Basque from the Benedictine monastery of St. . Margaritas. We will also present our Pag cheese as a world-famous delicacy, views of the Pag saltworks, then the embracing stone and wind bike trail, co-financed by the Ministry of Regional Development and EU funds, and Nordic walking trails. “, told us the director of the Tourist Board of the City of Pag Vesna Karavanić. “The shooting of the joint promo film came as a logical continuation of the previous continuous cooperation, which has only just come out in the time of the corona virus. The promo film is intended for both domestic and foreign markets, which will be able to see the most attractive and beautiful that the island of Pag, which we also call Moon Island, offers – we offer beautiful beaches, fantastic, untouched nature ideal for cycling, running, trail, Nordic walking, walking, rowing, surfing, there is also the award-winning Adriatic camp Šimuni, then an excellent gastronomic offer that is world famous – Pag cheese, lamb, cottage cheese, honey, baškotine, wines, aromatic herbs…, rich and extremely interesting cultural heritage, ornithological reserves, underwater amphora site near Šimun, protected area of Hanzina forest, Lun olive groves… ”, added Karavanic. However, it didn’t stop CVS from installing its system. It didn’t stop installation of a new one for the firehouse, as well as three buildings at the colonoscopy center and the proposed large Stewart’s on the corner. Considering costs, be aware that $1.6 million is added to Phase II to upgrade Phase 1.Homeowners, some of whom will need grinder pumps, should be aware that the warranty is only three years. Today’s approximate cost is $3,500 to $4,000. Expect to replace them several times at who knows what cost.I live in Burnt Hills, but not in the proposed district. This very costly project is not desirable for our rural community and I recommend voting no.Carl J. There is a desire by a few for economic development. There are about 400-500 acres of undeveloped land in 1.5 miles of Route 50 (a two-lane road). In the proposed district, that could have high-density development. In the March 15 Gazette article, Councilman William Goslin is quoted: “Businesses often cannot afford to put in septic systems,” which implies that the residents should provide a sewer system for them. read moreRead More »
