VOLVO ENGINE DIESEL 4 (VED4) The Volvo Engine Diesel 4 (VED4) is based on the Volvo Engine Architecture (VEA) and powers D2, D3, D4 and D5 variants. This article covers design attributes, power and MERCEDES-BENZ OM651 ENGINE The Mercedes-Benz OM651 was a four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that was first introduced in October 2008 and replaced the four-cylinder OM646 and six-cylinder OM642 engines. The OM651 engine was a completely new design that was pre-assembled at Mercedes-Benz’s Untertürkheim-Stuttgart plant and completed at MDC Power GmbH inKölleda.
3.2L PENTASTAR V6 ENGINE (2014-ON) The 3.2L Pentastar V6 engine had a high-pressure die-cast aluminium cylinder block with an open-deck design. The 3.2L Pentastar V6 engine had 91.0 mm bores and an 83.0 mm stroke for a capacity of 3239 cc. Compared to the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine, the 3.2L version had thicker cast iron cylinder liners to reduce the bore from 96.0 mm to 91.0 mm. In April 2012, Volvo issued Technical Journal 24643 for Volvo S80, V70, XC60, XC70 and XC90 vehicles that had 3.2 SI6 engines (codes: B6324S, B6324S2, B6324S4 and B6324S5) that were manufactured prior to 4 May 2011. According to the Technical Journal, these vehicles may exhibit the following symptoms: HOLDEN L36 ECOTEC V6 ENGINE The L36 was a 3.8-litre pushrod V6 petrol engine that was used in Holden vehicles from 1995 to 2004. Although the L36 'ECOTEC’ engine retained the 90-degree 'V' cylinder banks, 96.5 mm bores, 86.3 mm stroke and 3791 cc capacity of its LN3 predecessor, the L36 engine was a significant redesign and the changes provided freer-revving characteristics, greater power and quieter operation. 1KZ-TE TOYOTA ENGINE First introduced in 1993, Toyota’s 1KZ-TE was a 3.0-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engine. Key features of the 1KZ-TE included its alloy cast iron block, aluminium alloy cylinder head, single overhead camshaft, two valves per cylinder, drive-by-wire electronic throttle control and indirect injection. In April 2015, a recall was issued for 2011 WK2 Grand Cherokee vehicles with 3.0-litre turbo-diesel engines and 2012-13 WK2 Grand Cherokee vehicles with petrol engines. In these vehicles, the fuel pump relay within the Totally Integrated Power Module 7 (TIPM-7) may deform and fail 3.2L PENTASTAR V6 ENGINE (2014-ON) The 3.2L Pentastar V6 engine had a high-pressure die-cast aluminium cylinder block with an open-deck design. The 3.2L Pentastar V6 engine had 91.0 mm bores and an 83.0 mm stroke for a capacity of 3239 cc. Compared to the 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine, the 3.2L version had thicker cast iron cylinder liners to reduce the bore from 96.0 mm to 91.0 mm.
