TEACHING THE 8 BODY POSITIONS Teaching the 8 Body Positions. No build up necessary. We all know how vital it is that our students grasp the concepts of croisé, écarté, effacé, and en face. The aesthetic of ballet is based in large part on these positions. Regardless of the labels any particular teacher applies to these positions, the fundamentals remain the same. INTRODUCTION TO POINTE Introduction to Pointe. Once a dancer has completed pre-pointe training, there is a transitional class needed before full pointe training can begin. This is an introduction (or orientation) to pointe work. I find a good many teachers skip this. Either they are unaware of its benefits or they really want to get on with pointe work. 20 WAYS TO CREATE A COMFORTABLE CLASS Depth of experience will strengthen their base. 1. Build the Class around Basic Skills. Use the basics such as walking, running, galloping, jumping, hopping, and skipping. Building a foundation of natural movement is one of the most important things young dancers will need to move forward as they grow. HOME | THE BALLET SOURCE Teach Ballet Well.
