BATHSHEBA SCULPTURE
Bathsheba Sculpture - Bathsheba Sculpture LLC. I'm an artist, mostly in 3D printed steel. Here you'll find sculpture, cephalopods, and laser etched glass . The Klein Bottle Opener. Gyroid, best minimal surface. Yayene, a new take on the classic style.BATHSHEBA SCULPTURE
A section of the gyroid surface, with a little thickness added so it's easier to visualize or build. In this render I put a blue light on one side of the surface and a yellow one on the other. This shows how the gyroid divides space into two regions: the blue and- yellow-lit regions interlock but are separate. You should build a lamp like this.BATHSHEBA SCULPTURE

Small sculpture to wear, also great for keychains and general fidgeting. I'm moving most of these to Shapeways, where you can get them in different materials and finishes, plastic to platinum. Those that use interlocking steel will remain here.BATHSHEBA SCULPTURE
Mini Rajina. A tactile design: when I hand this around at parties, it comes back warm. Add to Cart $54. 2¾” long. At Shapeways.BATHSHEBA SCULPTURE

Its double helix backbones wrap around the outside, holding the A-T and G-C base pairs in place like the steps of a spiral staircase. It's something I do without wanting very much to explain it. 3D printed steel is my main medium, and I also work with subsurface laser damage in glass. The shapes I want aren't moldable, so most artmaking and manufacturing methods don't work well for me, which is why I got into 3D printing.BATHSHEBA SCULPTURE

Bathsheba Sculpture - 24-Cell. This is another 4-dimensional solid projected into 3-space, this one made up of 24 octahedral cells. Also known as the hyperdiamond or octaplex, this in many ways the most interesting of the regular solids in 4-space. Among other properties it is self-dual, and is the regular polytope with no analogue amongthe

Bathsheba Sculpture - 600-Cell. This is the most complex of the six regular 4-dimensional solids, the 600-cell. It's sometimes thought of as the analogue of the icosahedron, and has (as you might expect) 600 tetrahedral cells. This wasn't easy to model in 3-space, and for it I used an orthogonal projection rather than the Schlegel diagrams ofBATHSHEBA SCULPTURE
Bathsheba Sculpture - Bronze Geometry. The start of my adventures with CAD/CAM. In about 1997, Z Corporation was the first company to decide that models should be cheap, nasty and expendable, as opposed to expensive, durable, and as nicely finished as possible. Their launch meant that prints were suddenly affordable to regular people withoutBATHSHEBA SCULPTURE
Bathsheba Sculpture - E8. This is a projection into 3-space of the Gosset 4 21 polytope, which is itself a representation of the exceptional Lie group E8 . This group is connected to many areas of mathematics, and is regarded with awe by mathematicians for its pervasive presence and order. E8 has recently received media attentionas the
BATHSHEBA SCULPTURE BLOG Bathsheba. all. I usually work with proteins in laser etched glass. Last fall I did one as a large 3D print in steel, and with the help of my esteemed colleagues at Shapeways and Ex One, it turned out spectaular. Read more.__ __

LASER GLASS
Complex data etched into cubes of glass. Laser etching starts where 3D printing gives up: it draws unstructural clouds of information with precision and grace.*

CRYSTAL PROTEINS
Got your own data? At CrystalProteins I can draw it in glass. Proteins and molecules are a specialty, anything that is 3D and complex can be interesting. Sizes go from keychains to large awards, quantities one to hundreds – they're great for gifts, awards, or just to see your data madereal.
