Epilepsy affects approximately 50 million people worldwide. Up to 30 per cent of patients with focal epilepsy have persistent, disabling seizures that are resistant to conventional treatment. Uncontrolled epilepsy is harmful to the brain, has devastating socio-economic consequences, and is associated with increased risk of injury andsudden death.
MANISH SADARANGANI
The aim of our research at the Vaccine Evaluation Center (VEC) is to lower the burden of childhood infectious disease through vaccination by building an evidence base for local, national and international vaccine policy. My research program includes laboratory studies to develop new and better vaccines, clinical trials to identify how best to utilize new and approved vaccines, and populationSTEPHANIE GLEGG
Moving evidence into action is vital to ensuring that children and their families have access to the safest, most effective health care innovations available. Dr. Glegg’s research examines the factors that enable and hinder evidence use in health care, and tests interventions to support the uptake of research and other forms of knowledge that can improve health services delivery.
