This heinous act of anti-Muslim hate resulted in the devastating losses of Yumna Afzaal, Talat Afzaal, Salman Afzaal and Madiha Salman, and left nine-year-old Fayez Afzaal with serious injuries. PHYSICAL BARRIER REQUIREMENTS: DEADLINE FOR IMPLEMENTATION In response to the increasing demands on BC’s pharmacies and pharmacy professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic, the College is extending the deadline for community pharmacies and telepharmacies to implement physical barrier requirements. The deadline for compliance with physical barrier requirements has been extended from April 21, 2020 to December 31, 2020.PHARMACY OWNERSHIP
Yes, non-pharmacists may have ownership of a pharmacy. However, the majority of directors of the Direct Owner must be pharmacists registered in BC. In order to meet the majority requirement, more than 50% of the directors must be pharmacists (regardless of who has the majority of shares within the corporation). OPIOID AGONIST TREATMENT The new Opioid Agonist Treatment Compliance and Management Program (OAT-CAMPP) for community pharmacy, developed and administered by the BC Pharmacy Association, is aimed at reducing stigma and expanding pharmacists’ knowledge about methadone, buprenorphine/naloxone and slow-release oral morphine. Transition Period. NARCOTICS | COLLEGE OF PHARMACISTS OF BRITISH COLUMBIA Pharmacy technicians, in a community or hospital setting, are now permitted to witness and destroy narcotics as per Health Canada Circular Letter to Pharmacists in Canada No. 655. It is important to note that two health care professionals are required to witness the destruction of narcotics, which only one can be a pharmacy techniciansie.
