PREMIER ADDICTION TREATMENT CENTERÂ IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA The world-renowned Betty Ford Center, specializing in treatment programs for addiction to alcohol and other drugs, is located in the resort community of Rancho Mirage, California, just 20 minutes southof Palm Springs.
Established in 1982 by former First Lady and outspoken addiction recovery advocate Betty Ford, the iconic rehab center sits on a private, 20-acre campus, adjacent to the Eisenhower Medical Center. In establishing the Rancho Mirage addiction treatment center, Betty Ford and the facility's co-founders patterned the drug and alcohol rehab approach after the Hazelden Foundation's holistic Minnesota Model of care. The addiction treatment approach combines multidisciplinary care for the body, mind and spirit with Twelve Step practices of mutual support. In 2014, the Betty Ford Center and Hazelden merged, forming the nation’s leading nonprofit drug addiction treatment center, the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation. In recognition of addiction to alcohol and other drugs as a chronic disease—and recovery as a new way of living—our rehab programs are individualized, collaborative and incorporate varying levels and frequencies of care, as needed. Rehab programs and services available at the Betty Ford Center campus include bio-psycho-social assessments, medical detox as well as ongoing medical care, inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment, integrated mental health services, nearby sober living homes, animal-assisted programming, education and support for families and children, and post-rehab continuing care treatment groups to strengthen long-term recovery. IF YOU OR A LOVED ONE ARE STRUGGLING WITH SUBSTANCE ABUSE, CONTACT US OR CALL 1-866-831-5700 TODAY, TO SPEAK WITH A RECOVERY EXPERT INPATIENT DRUG AND ALCOHOL REHAB Often referred to as residential treatment, inpatient drug abuse programs at the Betty Ford Center are gender-specific and tailored to meet the specific need of each individual in our care. As a patient, your treatment plan will be developed by a team of clinicians and influenced by a number of factors related to your alcohol or drug use,including:
* Physical health
* Mental health
* Gender
* Family history
* Types of substances used * Potential for relapse* Medical necessity
Inpatient drug rehab typically begins with medical stabilization and detox, followed by a phased approach to care where the patient advances through addiction treatment programming at an individualized pace based on reaching clinical milestones. Core treatment components of our inpatient rehab program include: * Assessment/evaluation* Group therapy
* Educational lectures * Integrated mental health services for co-occurring disorders * Special-focus groups for pain, grief and LGBTQ+ * Twelve Step Facilitation therapy * Wellness activities (fitness, yoga, tai-chi) * Spiritual care services * Individual therapy * Animal-assisted programmingwith Malcolm, an
Australian Labradoodle Patients who have more complex addiction issues may require more time in treatment to address: * Co-occurring mental health complications * Relapse prevention * Sober living skills * Special issues and concerns TOUR THE BETTY FORD CENTER TREATMENT CENTER See the Rancho Mirage campus. Watch Malcolm, our animal-assisted programming dog and other videosabout our
programs.
SPECIALIZED PROGRAMS OPIOID ADDICTION PROGRAM The Betty Ford Center offers the Comprehensive Opioid Response with Twelve Steps (COR-12®) program for those suffering from opioid use disorder. The COR-12 treatment program includes individual and group therapy specific to the issues struggling with opioid addiction as well as educational sessions. In addition, medication assisted treatment (MAT) is used for some to help people achieve a stable, Twelve Step-based recovery lifestyle and ultimate abstinence from opioids. This program has a proven track record of keeping patients engaged longer—thereby giving them time to regain health and hope, learn essential skills, and form connections that support theirrecovery.
PROFESSIONALS PROGRAM Substance use disorder does not discriminate, but the path to recovery can be different for first responders, health care professionals, lawyers and other professionals. You may have different return-to-practice needs or may be involved in outside monitoring agencies. Our Professionals program includes all the inpatient treatment components, but also has special group sessions with other professionals and individual sessions with a counselor to address career restoration, licensing and/or monitoring matters, and professional practice and reputation.OUTPATIENT REHAB
Outpatient treatment at Hazelden Betty Ford rehab centers vary slightly in frequency and intensity, but an abstinence-based, Twelve Step approach built on evidence-based practices is core to all of our alcohol and drug rehab programs. Our outpatient rehab programming options near Palm Springs, California, include: HIGH-INTENSITY OUTPATIENT PROGRAM Whether you are admitted directly into our high-intensity outpatient treatment programming or you are stepping down from a higher level of care, this intensive daily drug addiction treatment program (also known as day treatment or partial hospitalization) is ideal for individuals who need a less-structured environment than inpatient rehab but benefit from more support and guidance than a standard outpatient treatment program. Patients in our high-intensity outpatient program also have the option of living in one of our structured sober-living homes near the Betty Ford Center campus. These sober-living homes provide a warm and welcoming place to begin your recovery journey, with: * 24/7 sober support and accountability * Free time in the evenings and on weekends to strengthen soberliving skills
* Opportunities to participate in Twelve Step meetings and become involved with the local recovery community High-intensity outpatient program sessions are held weekdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some patients may attend prescriptive specialty groupsduring this time.
INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is an ideal next-stage of care for patients transitioning from residential (inpatient) addiction treatment or day treatment programs. IOP can also be appropriate as a person's first treatment experience, as clinically indicated. IOP patients participate in 9 to 12 hours of drug rehab programming a week, for a minimum of three hours a day. A typical daily session involves a 1.5-hour educational workshop and 1.5 hours of group therapy. Additional individual counseling is offered, as well. Morning IOP treatment meets Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and evening IOP meets Monday-Thursday from 6-9 p.m. TELEHEALTH AND VIRTUAL SERVICES RecoveryGo, Hazelden Betty Ford's full-line of virtual behavioral health services, brings our world-class outpatient addiction and mental health care, recovery support resources and family services directly to you.
