BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE DASHBOARD DESIGN. A CASE STUDY … Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards are in high demand in the industry, but our knowledge about how to design BI dashboards for companies is currently dominated by best practices for data visualisation. This paper has investigated two research questions: (1) what characterises the state-of-the-art BI dashboard in organisations and (2) how should it be designed to facilitate decision making? TEXTBOOKS AND TEACHER DECISION-MAKING Textbook pedagogy and the textbook competence of teachers are relatively new areas of inquiry in Caribbean countries. This study investigates the decisions teachers made in how they used textbooks in the sixth form where mastery of complex content is required for high-stakes examinations at the end of secondary school. INCLUSIVE EDUCATION AND THE CULTURAL REPRESENTATION OF This paper examines the picture of disability and Disabled people portrayed within the textbooks presented to primary-aged pupils in English schools. The study’s analysis of the picture of disability was based upon a sample of 96 textbooks which were published between 1974 and 2005. The study’s findings denote the sample textbooks contained a limited construct of disability. This study examined the English Language coursebook in terms of design elements under the title of external evaluation and TEXTBOOKS AND TEACHER DECISION-MAKING Textbook pedagogy and the textbook competence of teachers are relatively new areas of inquiry in Caribbean countries. This study investigates the decisions teachers made in how they used textbooks in the sixth form where mastery of complex content is required for high-stakes examinations at the end of secondary school. Another line of inquiry pertained to calls for the development of the ideal LIGHTWEIGHT IT AND THE IT FUNCTION Lightweight IT - smartphones, tablets, sensors and Internet of things, and software robots - is penetrating organizations at an accelerating rate. This trend is challenging the role of the IT function, as lightweight IT often is being acquired and implemented by local business units. Consequently, how to organize and integrate lightweight initiatives with the IT function is a topical issue. IMPLEMENTING ASIMOV’S FIRST LAW OF ROBOTICS The need to make sure autonomous systems behave ethically is increasing with these systems becoming part of our society. Although there is no consensus to which actions an autonomous system should always be ethically obliged, preventing harm to people is an intuitive first candidate for a principle of behaviour. In this paper, we explore how computing students’ behaviors were affected by the transformation to online-based learning during the pandemic and what this can teach us about the IT STUDENTS PROJECT GROUP WORK IN THE DAY OF COVID-19 COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in disruptive impacts on teaching and learning experience around the world. In a particular context of project-based courses, where students need to interact and collaborate frequently, there appears additional challenges in implementing and learning from projects. This study investigates the decisions teachers made in how they used textbooks in the sixth form where mastery of complex content is required for high-stakes examinations at the end of secondary school. Another line of inquiry pertained to calls for the development of the ideal LIGHTWEIGHT IT AND THE IT FUNCTION Lightweight IT - smartphones, tablets, sensors and Internet of things, and software robots - is penetrating organizations at an accelerating rate. This trend is challenging the role of the IT function, as lightweight IT often is being acquired and implemented by local business units. Consequently, how to organize and integrate lightweight initiatives with the IT function is a topical issue. EDUCATORS’ EXPERIENCES ONLINE: HOW COVID-19 ENCOURAGED The COVID-19 lockdown in the spring of 2020 created a unique pedagogical change situation. Educators had to make significant and rapid changes to their teaching approaches, with the time frame being in the magnitude of hours, not weeks or months. At NTNU, a survey was conducted among the educators shortly after the lockdown to study how the educators experienced the change IT STUDENTS PROJECT GROUP WORK IN THE DAY OF COVID-19 COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in disruptive impacts on teaching and learning experience around the world. In a particular context of project-based courses, where students need to interact and collaborate frequently, there appears additional challenges in implementing and learning from projects. Understanding the impact of COVID-19 on project-based courses does not only provide INCLUSIVE EDUCATION AND THE CULTURAL REPRESENTATION OF This paper examines the picture of disability and Disabled people portrayed within the textbooks presented to primary-aged pupils in English schools. The study’s analysis of the picture of disability was based upon a sample of 96 textbooks which were published between 1974 and 2005. The study’s findings denote the sample textbooks contained a limited construct of disability. THE COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE ELEMENTS IN THE FOREIGN The textbooks used in teaching foreign language are considered as important tools since the more quality a textbooks is, the better learning or teaching occurs. Therefore, the studies conducted on analyzing and evaluating the textbooks have contributed to the field of developing textbooks. Thus our aim is to analyze and compare the use of communicative competence components, namely pragmatic BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE DASHBOARD DESIGN. A CASE STUDY … Business Intelligence (BI) dashboards are in high demand in the industry, but our knowledge about how to design BI dashboards for companies is currently dominated by best practices for data visualisation. This paper has investigated two research questions: (1) what characterises the state-of-the-art BI dashboard in organisations and (2) how should it be designed to facilitate decision making?
