Since 1998 he has studied at the Music Academy in Mannheim with Wolfhard Pencz, most recently taking advanced studies. The orchestra placed a violin built by Andrea Guarneri at her disposal. From 2010 to 2011, Anne Schoenholtz had a contract with the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zurich and still plays regularly in that orchestra. Two great symphonic organ concertos can be heard on the new CD from BR-KLASSIK: the famous Organ Symphony by Camille Saint-Saëns and the lesser-known but highly impressive Concerto for Organ, Strings and Timpani by Francis Poulenc. The Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks is conducted by Mariss Jansons, and the organ soloist is the excellent Latvian musician Iveta Apkalna, one of the LIVESTREAM: MIRGA GRAŽINYTĖ-TYLA about the programme. The outstanding Lithuanian conductor Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla is a champion of unjustly forgotten composers. One such composer is Shostakovich’s friend Mieczysław Weinberg, whose Second Symphony of 1946, a harrowing backward glance at the bleak war years, received its premier recording under her baton. BEN HAMES - SYMPHONIEORCHESTER DES BAYERISCHEN RUNDFUNKS In addition he performed with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, the Australian Chamber Orchestra and was hired as guest solo violist by the Filharmonie in Antwerp in 2003. Benedict Hames then became a member of the viola section in the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and in April of 2009 assumed the post of deputy soloviolist.
CARSTEN CAREY DUFFIN In September of 2010, Carsten Duffin became solo hornist in the Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, he also plays in the orchestra of the Richard Wagner festival in Bayreuth. Carsten Duffin has made solo appearances with the Detmold Chamber Orchestra, the Amadé Chamber Orchestra, the Detmold Yough Orchestra, the NRWOrchestra Academy

Emma Schied studied oboe with Celia Nicklin and Douglas Boyd at London’s Royal Academy of Music and with Maurice Bourgue at the Geneva Conservatoire de Musique, graduating with honours from both institutions. Emma Schied studied oboe with Celia Nicklin and Douglas Boyd at London’s Royal Academy of Music and with Maurice Bourgue at the Geneva Conservatoire de Musique, graduating with honours from both institutions. She was a founding member of the Mahler Chamber Orchestra and plays solo cor anglais in the Lucerne Festival Orchestra. Whether in its Munich concerts or on its worldwide tours, the BRSO works on a regular basis with renowned conductors and soloists. It can boast of numerous CD releases and prizes, including a Grammy for ‘best orchestral performance’ and the German Record Critics’Prize.
