I agree with what Inky said, and that is the best solution for your situation.. If I had the press inked up and had to get a job out, and encountered your problem, the first thing I would do is look at the form in the press (meaning the type, woodcut, photopolymer, etc. which you are trying to print from).USE OF LUDLOW

WOODZILLA PRESS- A COOL LITTLE MACHINE! 3- add a 3/4” tall set of rails on either side of the chase-base with threaded inserts and screws, to lock blocks or a PP base in place. I’ve added a similar lock-up to all of my homemade presses, so it’s an easy job. 4- add a gripper bar to the base. or maybe apin-register bar.

HELP IDENTIFYING THIS OFFSET PRESS Help identifying this offset press. mhudson1839. on 11 Apr 13 (13:54) We used these presses between 1950 and 1965 to print large type textbooks for kids with low vision here at the American Printing House for the Blind in Louisville, KY. I’ve searched on-line but can’t make a positive identication. VERTICAL MIEHLE *V* 50 X As I understand it, the cylinder won’t trip unless there’s paper on the platen, covering a vacuum sensor of some sort. V-50 operation manuals are available on Letterpress Commons, which might be a good place to start. Bill is correct that the X model was made primarily for the check printers, like Deluxe and Harlan. ORIGINAL HEIDELBERG CYLINDER IMPRESSION BACKING OFF Original Heidelberg Cylinder impression backing off. We have a Heidelberg Cylinder press that is used for diecutting, and the operator is having problems where the lever is moving towards the left during the run. So far his solution is to use a wooden wedge or a bungy cord to keep it on impression.BRIAR PRESS
