People and Nature is a broad-scope quarterly, open access journal publishing work from across research areas exploring relationships between humans and nature. We encourage conceptual and empirical approaches to answer interesting questions within this scope. Qualitative, quantitative and mixed methodologies are all welcome. STRATEGIC PLAN 2020-2023 careers through our journals, meetings, grants, and education and policy work. The first ecology society to be established anywhere in the world, we have been the champion of ecology UNDERSTANDING THE DECLINE OF ATLANTIC SALMON CATCHES IN Atlantic salmon are one of Scotland’s most iconic species, forming an important part of river ecosystems and, through salmon fisheries, making an important contribution to the rural economy. Atlantic salmon live in fresh water as juveniles before migrating to sea to undertake long migrations to their oceanic feeding grounds in the NorthAtlantic.
THE LOSS OF A PARENT IS THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF BROOD Apart from being a popular garden feeder visitor, blue tits have been the focus of much research on the causes and consequences of variation in reproductive success. Blue tits typically lay between 8-15 eggs, of which a varying number of young will survive to leave the nest.
