CH. 20 PROGRESSIVISM Referendum lets the people vote on whether to approve a new law. When the legislature passes a law, the time from when the law is passed to when the law goes into effect people can ask if the new law can be voted on by the people. If 10% of the people sign the request, then areferendum is held.
