Located in the heart of downtown Ottawa, the BYTOWN MUSEUM explores the stories of an evolving city and its residents from its early days as Bytown to present day Ottawa. The Museum is located at the Rideau Canal’s Ottawa locks, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, between Parliament Hill and the Château Laurier Hotel — one of the most picturesque sites in the city. BEYOND BYTOWN: VIRTUAL LECTURE SERIES The Bytown Museum is a not-for-profit, registered charity. In response to COVID-19, we have been commended on our Virtual Tour and Audio Guide accessibility, and our engagement with positive messaging, however due to restrictions on large gatherings, we are taking a hit in funding from admission fees, school tours, and more.EXHIBITIONS
