Funding Principles. Public funding of the arts contributes to the society in which we live. The Canada Council for the Arts is responsible for identifying areas where it can act strategically to shape an inclusive and healthy arts sector. In all its activities, the Canada Council must meet the highest ethical standards. CORPORATE POLICIES AND DOCUMENTS Corporate Policies and Documents. The Canada Council for the Arts reports to Parliament through the Minister of Canadian Heritage and is governed by an 11-member Board. International presenters, partners or host organizations must pay performance or exhibition fees to the EQUITY-SEEKING GROUPS Equity-seeking groups are communities that face significant collective challenges in participating in society.
