CADBURY STARBAR
It’s a small amount of ‘best bit’ but still, a best bit is a best bit – and for me it’s the crispy rice. You see, what happens when you bite into a Starbar is: you bite through a million different textures, okay then, about four. The chocolate coating begins to melt, the chewy caramel caresses your tongue, the peanuts prepare to leave ARABIAN DELIGHTS CHOCODATE WITH ALMOND Chocodates are somewhat moreish. Think about it, you begin with something wrapped in milk chocolate. Bite down through the shell and you encounter a whole date – soft, sweet, gooey fruitiness. Delicious. The coup de grace is the single crisp almond at the heat of each piece. It’s a great counterpoint to all that squidgy gooinessand

GREEN & BLACK'S CARAMEL CHOCOLATE BAR Wow! I just went onto this site to see what it was about and there featured was “The” queen of all chocolate caramel bars. After having bought a box of these quite heftily-priced but well-worth-the-money chocolate bars in anticipation of using them in various recipes which called for both chocolate and caramel, I wouldbuy them again.
GALLER LANGUES DE CHATS So, having established Jean Galler as a purveyor of fine quality chocolate and a man not afraid to experiment with unusual flavours and product design, I receive another sample box. (I have come to recognise the boxes, as I am sure whoever sends them now knows my address by heart.) Of course, I had seen these on the Galler website and in their catalogue, but nonetheless I couldn’t help but ASHLEYS TURKISH DELIGHT THINS Ashleys Turkish Delight Thins. As I was passing through my local Foodland the other day, these caught my eye. Partly because I saw my own name (admittedly, with the alternate spelling, but nevertheless) – and partly because of the magic words: “ Turkish Delight ”. Jessica Walker describing this disappointment as a ‘zesty lemon flavour’ is akin to comparing a dead sea lion to a wild, party animal sure to be loads of fun. NESTLÉ BUTTERFINGER VS REESE'S CRISPY CRUNCHY And I’m back with yet another Reese’s offering, this time it’s “milk chocolate, peanut butter, crispy peanut butter candy and peanuts.” It sounded something like a Butterfinger, so I decided to do a side-by-side comparison. CADBURY ADMITS CREME EGG SHRINKAGE Chocablog reader Cliff spotted that Cadbury have updated their web site after the recent fuss about shrinking Creme Eggs. The new text does not specificially state that the eggs have shrunk, only that there is a “broad variety of sizes and flavours of products”.. It’s also a candidate for the worst marketing-speak we’ve heard in years, and seems to imply that consumers actually asked FRY'S TURKISH DELIGHT When I was a wee nipper, Fry’s Turkish Delight was about as exotic and sophisticated as you could get on the confectionary aisle.
