CREATION CARE: A BIBLICAL REFLECTION This reflection looks at the version in chapter two. In this account the role of God and the place of humanity are both given dramatic emphasis. The creation is God’s, but we are given a key role in care for it. These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were created. In the day that the Lord God made the earth and the PRAY DAILY WITH PRAYERLINES Pray daily with Prayerlines. “Put prayer first, money second” has been a guiding principle of Church Mission Society since our earliest days. The work of our people around the world and in the UK depends utterly on prayer – and we are immensely grateful to all who faithfully support us in this way. Prayerlines is the Church Mission PIONEER SPECTRUM TOOLBOX This activity is to help you as a pioneer – or someone who supports and enables mission – to investigate and explore two things: 1. Yourself, your beliefs, practice and personality as they shape your missional work. 2. The context where you are engaging in God’s mission. NB For the card game you will need a desktop computer. PRAYING THE PARABLES THE SOWER Read the parable of the sower in Matthew 13:1-9. Take some time to walk in your garden, a nearby park or field. Feel the path beneath your feet, pick up a stone, look for a thorn, touch the earth. Reflect on which types of ground you most identify with at the moment. Let this inspire your praying. JENNIFER AND KEVIN CABLE The Middle East has seen a rapid decline in the number of Christians in recent years. Yet in Jaffa, St Peter’s Church is ready to be reborn, for resurrection to take place in a building whose doors have been closed for over 70 years, and for the gospel to be lived and shared in word and action. We know this vision will be challenging, but we trust that God will provide and we long to see the ANOTHER WAY OF SEEING The creators of the Pioneer Spectrum, Paul Bradbury and Tina Hodgett, reflect on the popularity and the flaws of this diagram and how they have been working to develop it into a useful missional tool. Since the pioneer spectrum was published in 2018 it has been widely shared, discussed and used. A good diagram works when it acts as a lens to help people understand their reality and DTH IN PRACTICAL THEOLOGY The programme consists of four modules taught over two years, followed by a dissertation. The modules are taught on three Tuesdays per semester. We also offer separate sessions at CMS for our CMS cohort of students. The degree usually takes four to six years to complete.
