Krohn Conservatory opened in 1933 and is located in Eden Park. The land in the park used to belong to Nicholas Longworth and he called it his Garden of Eden. The conservatory has many features in a style called Art Deco that was very popular in 1933. The railings in the front lobby have pictures in the metal that is an art deco style. LYTLE PARK - CINCINNATI PARKS The 2.31 acre park, bounded by Fourth and Lawrence Streets, is the original site of the Lytle family homestead, built in 1809 by General William Henry Lytle. French House is the focal point of 275-acre French Park. French House was built in the early 1900’s and then remodeled several times. The original park land for Kennedy Heights Park was purchased in 1930 with additional small lots added throughout the years for a total of 12.484 acres. With its rolling hills and mature trees, the park provides a pleasant neighborhood retreat. There is a shelter house at the top of the hill, many picnic tables throughout TOM JONES COMMONS CONSTRUCTION UPDATE We are excited to have construction underway at Tom Jones Commons. Groundbreaking took place for this project in October 2019. Thanks to the generous donation from Tom Jones and support from the Cincinnati Parks Foundation, the field in Eden Park south of Mirror Lake and along Martin Drive near the old water reservoir is being transformed with a variety of features. The Urban Forestry program has been operating since 1981 with funding provided by an annual assessment based upon footage upon the right-of-way. Urban Forestry consists of four foresters across four districts, as well as an in-house tree technician crew that manages smaller pruning, planting and tree removal jobs in the right-of-way.
