AusPlay results. AusPlay provides national, state and territory data on almost 400 different participation sports and activities in Australia and who is participating in them. Data collection for AusPlay has been continuous since the survey commenced on 22 October 2015. Results can be downloaded below.VOLUNTEERS IN SPORT

PHYSICAL LITERACY AND SPORT Put simply, physical literacy is the skills, motivation, confidence and knowledge to be active. Skill themes, movement concepts, and the national standards , Sport Information Resource Centre of Canada (2013). This paper provides an overview of what ‘physical literacy’ means and how the concept can be applied. SEXUALITY AND GENDER PERSPECTIVES ON SPORTS ETHICS The findings revealed multiple but narrow meanings of gender equity. There were three perspectives: (1) full equality; (2) conditional equality, and; (3) equality as a women’s only issue. The differences illustrate the complexities and struggles involved in understanding this organisational value. MEDIA COVERAGE AND REPRESENTATION The UK report ‘Women’s Sport: Say ‘Yes’ to Success’ also highlighted that despite increased interest in women’s sport and broadcasting (more than half of sports fans reported wanting to see more women’s sport on TV), women’s sport attracted 0.4% of reported sponsorship money (September 2011-December 2013). SPORT PARTICIPATION IN AUSTRALIA In 2020 89% of adults participated in sport/PA, 54% of women and 69% of men participated in sport-related activities. Of the 71% of children who participated in organised after-school activities 68% participated in sport-related activities. STRUCTURE OF AUSTRALIAN SPORT Australian governments at all levels play a leading role in delivering sport and sport related policies and programs. This includes providing support and funding to sporting organisations, clubs and individuals, being major investors and contributors to building and maintaining sports related infrastructure, and sponsoring the hosting of majorsports events.
PERSONS WITH DISABILITY AND SPORT 7 Pillars of Inclusion: Helping sport with inclusion and diversity (Swimming and Netball). The 7 Pillars of Inclusion is a unique web-based tool to help individuals and sport organisations identify their strengths and weaknesses around the inclusion of disadvantaged populations, and what can be done. ACTIVE AFTER-SCHOOL COMMUNITIES (AASC) The Active After-school Communities (AASC) program was an Australian Government initiative that provided primary school-aged children with access to free sport and other structured physical activity programs in the after-school time slot of 3.00pm to 5.30pm.
