RECEIVING GOD’S MERCY: STEP 1 The Bible tells us that mercy is one of God’s most endearing and best-known characteristics:. For the LORD is good; His mercy is everlasting; and His truth endures to all generations. (Psalms 100:5) Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. (Psalms 116:5) For Your mercy is great unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds. (Psalms 57:10) ONLY THE WISE SHALL UNDERSTAND Deception will be a dominanting feature of the End Times!. Nowadays it seems there are FEW we can trust! Yahushua warned us: “Beware that no one deceive you! many shall be deceived!” (Matthew 24:4-5).; Very few have The Necessary Understanding of what is Truth — Truth that is pure, right, good, and eternal — truth that imparts understanding and is a safe-guard against deception! Yahuwah Elohim is exceedingly generous in many ways!! But this phrase - "no good thing will He withhold" - has a condition attached to it. Here is the entire verse: For LEAD ME IN YOUR TRUTH: PART 2 Yahuwah, Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is the truth. Many Believers in Yahushua Messiah are hearing about the ‘Hebrew Roots’ of the Faith, and are frightened to see their fellow Believers becoming involved in this movement. 7 TIPS FOR ENDURING TRIALS Posted on 06/30/2019 by goodnewsfromadistantland— Leave a comment
Those who follow Messiah are on a journey through the wilderness of this life. Before long, however, we begin to see that while on this journey, we encounter trials, adversities, and suffering. Throughout the Scriptures, we are told that those who persevere and endure through troubles and trials will receive great benefit, even great reward. We must then ask, what is the benefit or reward for enduring the trials? And what are some tips that can help us to endure them? In this article, we will try to answer these questions. OUR COMMITMENT TO FOLLOW MESSIAH We began our journey as a step of faith in Yahuwah Elohim , through our belief in Yahushua Messiah . As we continue our journey, we soon see in Scripture that we are called to a commitment to our Saviour, to follow in His footsteps, and to do the will of God. We see also that our commitment to follow Messiah will be tested many times, and in many ways. There are times in our journey, when we encounter trials and afflictions, even suffering wrongfully “_for conscience toward God._” Our conscience will move us to endure these trials, because of our Saviour’s example. With all our heart, we desire to follow Messiah. We desire to walk as Yahushua walked — which includes enduring trials and adversities. But as we strive to ‘walk as He walked’ and follow His example of obedience, we begin to discover the riches of His love for us, and His “Great Reward” (1John 2:6; Genesis 15:1; Psalms 19:11; see also Matthew 5:12; Hebrews 10:35). Here are a few ‘tips’ that may help us to endure the trials, difficulties and sufferings that we all must go through (Acts 14:22), as we follow in Messiah’s footsteps on our journey. TIP #1: TRIALS AND SUFFERING — PART OF OUR CALLING Doing what is good and right in God’s sight, and then eventually suffering for it, is indeed a sad and grievous outcome of our good efforts. But this is part of the calling for those who love and followYahushua Messiah:
_“Though He were a Son, yet LEARNED HE OBEDIENCE by the THINGS WHICH HE SUFFERED…” (Hebrews 5:8)_ _19) For this is thankworthy, if a man FOR CONSCIENCE TOWARD GOD endure grief, suffering wrongfully…. 20) but if, when YOU DO WELL, AND SUFFER FOR IT, and you take it PATIENTLY, this is acceptable with God. 21) For even hereunto were you CALLED: because MESSIAH ALSO SUFFERED FOR US, LEAVING US AN EXAMPLE, that YOU SHOULD FOLLOW HIS STEPS. (1Peter 2:19-21)_ The Scriptures remind us that our calling — what we are destined for — is to follow Messiah’s example, not only in our obedience to the Father, but also, through adversity and enduring trials. When we look at Yahushua’s life, much of His example includes a humble and meek endurance through the midst of opposition and hatred. This means, as Yahushua’s disciples, we will most likely be subjected to false accusations or unjust suffering. Not that we would go looking for suffering! But if we love Messiah and desire to follow in His steps, then it will inevitably happen — WE DO WELL AND YET, WE SUFFER FOR IT. This is not surprising. It is part of our calling. We endure suffering and grief for the sake of our love and loyalty to Messiah. The apostle Peter advises us to expect such trials: _12) BELOVED, DO NOT THINK IT STRANGE CONCERNING THE FIERY TRIAL WHICH IS TO TRY YOU, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13) but REJOICE, inasmuch as YOU ARE PARTAKERS OF MESSIAH’S SUFFERINGS…. 14) If you be reproached for the name of Messiah, happy are you; for the spirit of glory and of God rests upon you…. 19) Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to Him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. (1Peter 4:12-14,19)._ As followers of Messiah Yahushua , trials are not to be considered unusual. They are part of our destiny. This is the way of God’s kingdom — to be tried and tested, which is for our benefit! And if, _“for conscience toward God”_ we suffer wrongfully, patiently enduring, then such patience is gracious, acceptable, and is worthy of thanksgiving (see 1Peter 2:19)! However, during any trails or wrongful suffering, we may well question our ability to be thankful and endure graciously! Yet many have done it. They endured graciously, and have maintained a meek and quietspirit.
TIP #2: MEEKNESS — A NECESSARY CHARACTERISTIC Meekness is a necessary characteristic that enables endurance through grievous trials. Meekness is vital if we desire to receive instruction and guidance from Yahuwah in the midst of trials! It is only the _‘meek’_ whom Yahuwah will guide and teach. Only the _meek_ will have the necessary fear of Yahuwah to receive instruction from the heavenly Father (Psalms 25:9,12). Only the _meek_ will have the kind of heart that sincerely desires to diligently and continuously seek Yahuwah and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33; Zephaniah 2:3). Only the _meek_ will find rest for their souls as they learn to imitate Messiah’s characteristics of meekness and humility (Matthew11:29; 1John 2:6).
But what does it mean to be meek? Meekness in Scripture is not the same as the modern understanding of the word meekness. The modern meaning of meekness has evolved into a somewhat negative meaning implying weakness, timidity, cowardice, and lack of courage. But that is far from true in the Biblical sense ofthe word!
In Scripture, meekness is a characteristic that encompasses great strength, humility, perseverance, and most of all, yieldedness to God’s Word! Biblical meekness includes sincerity, patience, openness to Yah’s instruction, and an intense love for Yahuwah . As we saw in 3 Keys to Receiving God’s Guidance,
the prophet Moses reveals what meekness really is: _Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth! (Numbers 12:3)_ When we study the actions of Moses throughout his dealings with the children of Israel, we can see that his actions consistently revealed a heart attitude of meekness. Moses persistently spent time with Yahuwah Elohim . Moses willingly yielded to the authority and wisdom of Yahuwah, regardless of the opposition. And Moses boldly declared Yahuwah’s truth in the midst of a resistant people. These qualities are the essence of meekness. It was Moses’ meekness of character that enabled him, over and over, to stand in the breach for the cantankerous children of Israel. Also our Saviour’s meekness of character was a main quality that enabled Him to endure the injustice of His execution. Throughout His ministry, Yahushua was enabled to allow no corrupt communication to come out of His mouth, which is characteristic of meekness. Whenever Yahushua was reviled, whenever He suffered, He did not retaliate, He threatened not! (1Peter 2:22-23) It is our meekness of character that enables us to humble ourselves when we have been selfish and have failed in our obedience. Meekness enables us to withstand injustices, for the sake of our Saviour. It is meekness that Father is looking for in His children. It is the _meek_ He will beautify with His salvation. It is the _meek_ He will teach His ways! It is in quietness and confidence that we find strength! And it is a meek and quiet spirit that is of very great value in the sight of God! (Psalms 149:4; Isaiah 30:15a; 1Peter 3:4) TIP #3: TRUST FATHER’S OVERSIGHT Enduring under injustices and afflictions is never easy or natural for any of us to do. But, many have done it! History is full of stories of those who have endured overwhelming afflictions and eventually triumphed. Many saints were victorious by enduring and persevering through great trials of persecutions and tribulations. They maintained their patience and faithfulness, thus obtaining _“a good report through faith” (see Hebrews 11:38-39)_. Believers in Yahushua Messiah have the great advantage of Father’s enabling grace available to them. Believers who are serious in their commitment to Yahuwah Elohim, who seek to remain loyal to Father, are often the object of great sufferings. Yet they have determined to look beyond the temporal, and have set their heart on ‘things above‘.
They call on Father’s help, moment-by-moment, to strengthen and rescue them, even in small, seemingly insignificant matters. By Father’s great grace, such Believers are enabled to withstand the grief and humiliation of sufferings — not because they find any enjoyment in it ; but because they confidently trust the heavenly Father’s love and wisdom, even in the midst of their pain. They trust Father’s oversight of life’s circumstances. They trust in His permission of distressing troubles, because they know His plans and purposes are much greater than any human level of understanding! _“If I had not felt certain that every additional trial was ordered by God’s infinite love and mercy, I could not have survived my accumulated sufferings.” — Adoniram Judson_ The character quality of meekness helps us to endure and bear the injustices and trials that we all experience for Messiah’s sake. It is meekness of character that helps us to be more forgiving. Meekness quiets us, helping us to reconcile ourselves to the love and design of The Heavenly Potter, while accepting ourselves and our situation, surrendering as the clay in His hands. Without a doubt, wrongful suffering is a huge mystery! Our human understanding of this mystery is beyond our finite brains. There must come a moment therefore, when we surrender our demand to understand. We must trust Yahuwah Elohim , the High and Lofty One Who inhabits eternity, Who knows the end from the beginning. We must trust His promises given to us in His Word. We must trust Him that He will turn our troubles to our good, just as He has promised, just as He did for Joseph (Genesis 50:19-20; Exodus 20:6; 1Peter 1:7; see also 1Peter 5:10; 1Corinthians 2:9; Deuteronomy 8:2). TIP #4: CULTIVATE ENDURANCE Acquiring endurance will not happen overnight. Endurance and meekness are qualities that require the process of cultivation over time. Just as it is in the natural, so it is in the spiritual. We may put seeds into the ground and expect good fruit, but this requires time, and cultivation through hardships. In my own life, my weaknesses and failures have often tended to discourage me. Learning to endure trials is not for the faint-hearted! Thankfully, Father is not discouraged or disgusted with my failures. Father knew from the beginning what kind of project I would be when He called me to be His child. His unfailing love for me remains faithful and unchanged! However, this is no excuse for me to sit back and coast, or even give up. Father expects to eventually see the fruit of endurance in my life. My failures simply become the ‘fertilizer’ that will finally bring about the fruit of endurance He expects tosee.
Our failures and sufferings are never an excuse for us to allow ourselves to deny our Saviour. Rather, such things are for us to learn greater patience and trust in Yahuwah’s love and wisdom, trusting that He knows about the tiniest details of our life. When circumstances occur that are grievous and humiliating, upsetting our plans and concerns , then it is our strength of character that will enable us to seek Father’s graceand mercy.
If we desire to continue within Yahuwah’s plans and purposes for us, then we need to accept the reality of a life of self-denial, and be willing to endure hardships and afflictions, as a good soldier (2Timothy 2:3). Learning to endure, while drawing on Father’s grace, comes, very slowly it seems, as we grow and mature in our commitmentto Father.
TIP #5: NO RETALIATING The great injustices that Messiah endured for our sake are for our example. The Holy Spirit urges us continually to follow the Saviour’s example, doing what Messiah did: _Who did no sin, neither was guile found in His mouth: Who, WHEN HE WAS REVILED, REVILED NOT AGAIN; when He suffered, HE THREATENED NOT; but committed Himself to Him that judges righteously. (1Peter2:22-23)_
If we are faced with suffering wrongfully, or if we encounter slander, reviling, or a confrontation with a loved one — all because of our loyalty to Yahuwah — then as Messiah’s disciples, we must determine to keep our quietness and maintain a spirit of meekness. This is how we possess our souls: by patiently persevering, not murmuring or retaliating (Luke 21:19; Romans 5:3). As Messiah’s disciples, we can do as King David did: personally proclaim, say or sing out loud, that _“Yahuwah is always set before me! I keep Him at my right hand! I keep His guidance and instruction always near me in my thoughts, my heart, my focus.”_ When we personally proclaim Father’s Word, then we build our confidence and hope, which helps us not to waver (Psalms 16:8; Psalms 62:5-6). We must also do what Moses did so often: _And Yahuwah spake unto Moses FACE TO FACE, as a man speaks unto his friend (Exodus 33:11a)_. Moses knew he needed help from above, so he went to the Father in prayer, frequently! Prayer is our instant life-line to the heavenly Father! (See Numbers 11:2; 14:20; Exodus 32:11, 30; Deuteronomy 9:18-20,26-29; Psalms 106:23; Isaiah 30:15). TIP #6: TRUST GOD’S RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT The phrase in 1Peter 2:23, Yahushua_ “committed Himself to Him that judges righteously”_ is like an anchor for our soul. This is a key to maintaining our hope and our loyalty to Yahuwah, the Mighty One of Israel. We commit the keeping of our souls unto our loving Father. We resolve to trust that Father is holding us tightly throughout the trials and humiliation, trusting in our righteous God to ultimately doas He has promised:
_He comes to judge the earth: HE SHALL JUDGE THE WORLD WITH RIGHTEOUSNESS, and the people with HIS TRUTH. (Psalms 96:13)_ _Happy is he that has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahuwah Elohim : which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keeps truth for ever: which EXECUTES JUDGMENT FOR THE OPPRESSED…. (Psalms 146:5-7a)_ _Let Israel hope in Yahuwah : for with Yahuwah there is MERCY, and with Him is plenteous redemption. (Psalms 130:7)_ _Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God, COMMIT THE KEEPING OF THEIR SOULS TO HIM IN WELL DOING, as unto a faithful Creator. (1Peter 4:19)_ We commit the keeping of our souls to Yahuwah Elohim, the God of truth — the One who will execute righteous judgment for the oppressed; the One who will judge righteously on that fateful Day when all things will come into the light of His truth! Yahuwah our Mighty One, through Messiah, is our hope of redemption, our hope of deliverance, and our hope of glory. He will be our guide even unto death (Psalms 48:14). TIP #7: BE PREPARED FOR TRIALS The apostle Peter admonishes us: _“Do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you” (1Peter 4:12a)_. Peter is warning us, and encouraging us, to be prepared for trials and testings, and for suffering wrongfully. If we are the subject of ridicule, hatred, or unjust sufferings; if we have yielded to foolishness or temptations, then meekness of character and endurance go hand-in-hand. These two qualities will help us to fight our fight of faith. They will help us to be repentant when needed, and help us to not give up our commitment to follow Messiah’s example! And if we will cry out to Father for His help in our time of need, then by His enabling grace, we can continue following in our Saviour’s steps! (Psalms 106:44) Of course as it often happens, I ‘know’ more than I am ‘doing’! Knowing the right thing to do, and then doing the right thing, requires the mercy and grace of the Holy Spirit’s mighty power working within me: _“Not by might, nor by power, but by Your Spirit!!” (Zechariah 4:6)._ Every victory that I have seen in my life is due only to Father’s intervention on my behalf. To better understand the Holy Spirit’s dealings with us, we must maintain a TEACHABLE HEART. We must be sensitive to His guidance. We must cherish the smallest impressions He gives us, and then be quick to humble ourselves. Our “growing in grace” while learning His lessons for us, begins with our commitment to Him, to keep His ways. Our commitment to keep His ways requires personal study of Father’s written Word_ for ourselves_, learning His Word intimately. Only in this way can we sincerely obey Father’s Word with all our strength. One very great help for us in the midst of trials, is for us to pray in the Holy Spirit. When praying in the Holy Spirit, our spirit is praying, although in our mind we do not understand what we are praying. We can be sure, however, that Father hears these prayers, for it is the Holy Spirit Himself praying within us (see 1Corinthians 14:14-21). Praying in the Spirit is a significant tool for helping us to BUILD UP OUR FAITH, keeping us confident of Father’s love (Jude 1:20-21; 1Corinthians 14:4a). We are best prepared when we pray oftenin the Holy Spirit
,
praying in detail before things happen.CONCLUSION
When trials come, if we will CRY OUT FOR YAHUWAH’S HELP (this is essential), crying out for help to remain loyal to Him, for patience to be of a meek spirit, then He will be faithful to hold us close to Him. He will give us the necessary grace we need to maintain our patience, meekness, and endurance, even through wrongful sufferings. Let us set our heart and affections on God, with sincere loyalty to Him. Then if we are reproached for the name of Messiah, let us be brave and courageous, for the spirit of glory and of God rests upon us! (see above 1Peter 4:14). _HAPPY is he that has the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in Yahuwah Elohim : which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: WHICH KEEPS TRUTH FOR EVER: which EXECUTES JUDGMENT FOR THE OPPRESSED…. (Psalms 146:5-7a)_ Let us remember, when we do well and we suffer for it, and ‘if’ we can take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. This is part of our calling as Thirsty Souls who follow Messiah. Therefore, let us not think it strange or unusual whenever we face difficult testings and trials, for our God tests and tries His children, but He will not forsake those who seek Him! (Proverbs 3:11-12; Psalms 9:9-10) These 7 tips, when practiced, will be helpful for enduring trials.—

SEARCHING OUT THE MYSTERY OF MESSIAH Posted on 06/27/2019 by goodnewsfromadistantland— Leave a comment
The Bible has much to say about the hidden and glorious “mystery of Messiah”, as it is described in Scripture: _…Even THE MYSTERY which hath been HID FROM AGES AND FROM GENERATIONS, but now is MADE MANIFEST TO HIS SAINTS: __to whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of THIS MYSTERY among the Gentiles; WHICH IS MESSIAH IN YOU, the hope of glory… (Colossians 1:26-27)_ The mystery of Messiah was kept secret for generations, but now, through the Scriptures, we can begin to see into this mystery! Every one of us has had ponderings and wonderings about this mysterious person, Messiah Yahushua . He surely was no ordinary man! Yahushua Messiah claims to be sent from heaven by His Father, Yahuwah Elohim . Thanks to the many free Bible computer programs available, such as e-Sword.net , we can easily see this claim. In the Gospel of John, Yahushua claimed over 35 times that God had sent Him! This claim alone is mysterious. Many have desired to understand the mysterious nature and mission of Yahushua. But He told us that the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven are revealed only to His followers, His disciples — to those who love Him and are as humble as a little child: _He answered and said unto them (His disciples), Because IT IS GIVEN UNTO YOU TO KNOW THE MYSTERIES of the kingdom of heaven, BUT TO THEM (who are not His disciples) IT IS NOT GIVEN. (Matthew13:11) _
_At that time Yahushua answered and said, I thank You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have HID THESE THINGS FROM THE WISE AND PRUDENT (the ‘learned’), and have REVEALED THEM UNTO BABES (the ‘unlearned’, the helpless, defenseless, and truly humble). (Matthew 11:25)_ _The SECRET of Yahuwah IS WITH THEM THAT FEAR HIM; and He will show them His covenant. (Psalms 25:14)_ _He that has MY COMMANDMENTS, AND KEEPS THEM, he it is that LOVES ME: and he that loves Me shall be loved of My Father, and I will love him, and will MANIFEST MYSELF TO HIM. (John 14:21)_ These verses show us that there are certain conditions for receiving understanding and insight into the mysteries and secrets of the kingdom of heaven. Only those who are Messiah’s followers, His disciples who love Him — who search for Him in the Bible, the written Scriptures, and who obey Him — they will find out His secrets, and the truth of His goodness. The humble and the meek are the ones who meet these conditions. They are the ones who will receive the knowledge of God’s divine things, and they will receive the love of God poured into their heart throughHis Holy Spirit.
But those who are devious, perverse, unrighteous, or greedy are detestable to God. These will not receive anything from Him. God hides Himself from the wicked. But the humble of heart, those who hunger for His truth and wisdom, have the honour of seeking Him, and they will therefore find Him (Proverbs 3:32 and Jeremiah 29:13). Yahuwah Elohim is beyond our human comprehension. And yet, He has made His invisible attributes — His eternal power and His divine nature — to be clearly seen through the creation of the world. God has also placed the essence of His laws within every man’s heart, bearing witness through every man’s conscience (Romans 1:19-21 and Romans 2:14-15). God, by His Holy Spirit, is always reaching out to everyone, wanting to open the eyes and heart of anyone who will be honest with Him and search for Him. Those who are humble enough to admit their lack of understanding, humble enough to honestly search for God, humble enough to deny their own self-interests that they may serve Messiah’s interests, these are the ones who will find Him. But we cannot begin to truly understand the mysteries of God apart from His written Word. We must be humble enough to search for Him by what He says about Himself in His Word, the Bible: _God is a Spirit – John 4:24a God is holy – Psalms 99:9b God is merciful – Psalms 116:5b God is greater than man – Job 33:12b God is the King of all the earth – Psalms 47:7a God is Yahuwah – Psalms 33:12a God is greatly to be feared – Psalms 89:7a God is in the heavens – Psalms 115:3b God is a consuming fire – Hebrews 12:29 God is not unrighteous – Hebrews 6:10a God is not mocked – Galatians 6:7a God is the judge – Psalms 75:7a God is light – 1John 1:5a God is love – 1John 4:8b God is our Maker – Psalms 100:3a God is the Holy One of Israel – Psalms 71:22b God is greater than our heart – 1John 3:20b God inhabits eternity – Isaiah 57:15a God was in Messiah – 2Corinthians 5:19a God was manifest in the flesh – 1Timothy 3:16b_
The above phrases from the Scriptures reveal only a few of the eternal and mysterious attributes of Yahuwah Elohim . These things are far above our human understanding. And yet God has lowered Himself, He has humbled Himself to reveal, in great depth, His divine nature through His Word . It is through God’s Word that we discover the mysterious nature and mission of Yahushua. It is through His Word that we discover one of the most astounding of mysteries — that GOD WAS IN MESSIAH, that God was manifested in the flesh through His Son, Yahushua Messiah. When we can accept and receive this truth, then we are beginning the awesome journey into searching out the ‘mystery of Messiah’ (Colossians4:3).

The ‘MYSTERY ‘ songby Misty Edwards:
You’re a mystery, like poetry – like a parable – a rhyme or ariddle.
You’re a mystery, wrapped in clouds, shouting so loud, just waitingto be discovered.
You’re a mystery – so intriguing. You’re a mystery – soinviting.
You saved Yourself for the weak, the broken and the meek. Only the hungry dine. Only the thirsty drink deep. You saved Yourself for the needy. You saved Yourself for me. You’re a mystery, like poetry – like a parable – a rhyme or ariddle.
You’re a mystery, wrapped in clouds, shouting so loud, just waitingto be discovered.
I want to waste my life to search You out, search You out. I want to waste my life to search You out, search You out. I don’t want to build castles in the sand. I don’t want to live in a fairy tale. I want what’s real. The knowledge of You will remain forever, remain forever. I want to waste my life to search You out, search You out. I want to waste my life to search You out, search You out. It’s the glory of God is to hide a matter. It’s the glory of a king to search it out. I want to search You out. I love the way You hide so I can find You. I want to search You out. It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the HONOUR of kings is to search out a matter. (Proverbs 25:2; see also Revelation 1:4-6)—

PRAYER: THE EVIDENCE OF PATIENT, PERSISTENT LOVE Posted on 05/10/2019 by goodnewsfromadistantland— Leave a comment
One of the goals of Believers in Yahushua Messiah is to show Biblical love to others. But showing Biblical love to others can be difficult at times because some do not understand the expression of Biblical love. Love is like a JEWEL because it has many facets. One of the facets oflove is _PATIENCE_.
In 1Corinthians 13 we are told: _“LOVE IS PATIENT AND KIND; love does not envy or boast; love is not arrogant. Love does not behave unbecomingly, does not seek her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil. Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth. Love bears (quietly covers) all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. ” (1Corinthians 13:4-8a)._ This description of love is a description of our heavenly Father. It is a description of Biblical love! For us to truly love someone is to behave with this kind of love; and most especially _WITH PATIENCE_. Patience is the first and essential facet, the first distinctive feature, of love. Patient Biblical love is to WAIT – wait with an expectation forGod’s goodness.
When we show patient, Biblical love, we wait and we endure _TO THEEND_ (Mark 13:13).
Patience waits.
Patience waits by continuing to persistently plant another seed of Biblical love _each day._ A farmer waits as the seeds lie buried under the soil. The seeds are unseen and seem as though dead. _Behold, THE FARMER WAITS FOR THE PRECIOUS FRUIT OF THE EARTH, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain. (James5:7b)_
The farmer waits silently for the precious fruit of the earth. Every seed he plants is hidden and buried. But the farmer’s eyes are focused on the unseen realm. He looks not at the bare soil where the seed was just planted. His eyes are looking toward the harvest. So also, LOVE patiently _waits with expectation_ for fruitfulness. This is the way it is with you and me. Every day, we plant a ‘love seed’ of God’s Word, trusting it will take root and prosper(Isaiah 55:11).
Every day, we plant a ‘love seed’ of hidden, patient, and persistent prayer . . . — a prayer for more understanding, — a prayer for healing, — a prayer for the return of a wayward child, — a prayer for a change of heart – a change in others, or a changein ourselves.
Regardless of the trials, the agony, or the rejection, we continue our loving, hidden, often silent patience. Many times our patience includes enduring opposition and rejection! But that is the way of Biblical love: we do not seek our own agenda, we are not easily provoked. We persist in keeping our eyes focused on Yahushua , the Author and Finisher of our faith, Who . . . _. . . FOR THE JOY THAT WAS SET BEFORE HIM, ENDURED THE CROSS, despising the shame, and sat down at the right of the throne of God. For consider Him who ENDURED SUCH CONTRADICTION (opposition/hostility) OF SINNERS AGAINST HIMSELF, lest you be weary and faint in your minds (lose heart) (Hebrews 12:2-3)._ Just as King David, we wait patiently: _“For God alone MY SOUL WAITS IN SILENCE; from Him comes my salvation!” (Psalms 62:1)_ It takes patience and persistence to remember that God’s timing is not our timing (Isaiah 55:8-9). It takes patience and persistence to remember that Yahuwah Elohim wants us to focus on the UNseen, eternal realm of His Kingdom (2Corinthians 4:17-18). It takes patience and persistence to remember that our heavenly Father will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him – those who look to Him, expectantly hoping in His mercy (Psalms 145:19; Psalms 147:11). It takes patience to remember to BE patient: _Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For YOU HAVE NEED OF PATIENCE . . . (Hebrews 10:35-36a)._ The Holy Spirit often reminds me that I HAVE NEED OF PATIENCE! This “Fruit of the Spirit” — _PATIENCE_ — is so essential: • IT IS THROUGH PATIENCE that we bring forth good fruit (Luke8:15).
• IT IS THROUGH FAITH AND PATIENCE that we inherit the promises ofGod. (Hebrews 6:12)
• IT IS THROUGH PATIENCE that we can run the course that Father sets before us. (Hebrews 12:1) • IT IS THROUGH THE COMFORT OF THE SCRIPTURES AND PATIENCE that we obtain hope. (Romans 15:4) • IT IS THROUGH PATIENCE that we can become mature and complete, lacking nothing. (James 1:4) • IT IS THROUGH PATIENCE that we learn to keep Yahuwah’s commandments and the faith of Yahushua Messiah .(Revelation 14:12)
• IT IS THROUGH PATIENCE that we learn to possess our souls. That is, we patiently learn to keep ourselves disciplined, sober-minded, and responsible, maintaining our fear of God with vigilance. (Luke21:19)
SPIRITUALLY HANDICAPPED Have we yet realized the importance of having patience?? Without patience, we would be spiritually handicapped! Without patience, the promises and rewards that Father has for His children would not be obtained! We need great patience, endurance, and persistence to diligently SEEK FATHER, so that He CAN reward us! We need great patience, endurance, and persistence to READ AND STUDY THE SCRIPTURES FOR OURSELVES, so that we can grasp the immense goodness of our heavenly Father and the hope of eternal life. We need great patience, endurance, and persistence to WAIT ON FATHER’S TIMING for His answers. Consider this: it takes great patience for a mother to wait for, and endure, the birth of her baby. So it is with our prayers! We need great patience to pray persistently, _crying out day and night unto Yahuwah_, so that we can eventually receive ‘the baby’ — receive ‘the answer’ to our pleas (See: Luke 18:1-8 and Matthew7:7-11).
Our crying out for answers waters our heart with more patience. We cry and groan with sounds unclear and mysterious. Our tearful anguish works more LOVING, PATIENT WAITING within us_ outof necessity._
With our own strength, we cannot succeed! We need Father’s strength to hold us tightly, helping us to maintain our persistence, keeping us near Him, and reminding us of His loving care (See Psalms 139)! _“No man can do a great and enduring work for God who is not a man of prayer, and no man can be a man of prayer who does not give much time to praying.” — E. M. Bounds_ANOTHER DAY
Another day brings us once again to the patience of waiting. Another day comes for _Father’s MERCIES TO BE RENEWED AND HIS__ HOPE RESTORED!_ (Lamentations 3:22-25; Psalms 143:8; see also Psalms 30:5). And so, we wait. Why?? _Because we love!!_ _“LOVE CAN WAIT, wait a long time, wait until the end. Love never becomes impatient; it never wants to hurry things up and force them. IT DEALS WITH LONG PERIODS OF TIME. Waiting, having patience, continuing to love and be kind, even where it seems entirely to miss the mark — this alone wins people over; this alone breaks the bond that chains every person…. Kindness often seems so completely inappropriate, but LOVE IS PATIENT and kind. It waits….” — Dietrich Bonhoeffer_ We wait _with patience and endurance and persistence_ because this is how we show Biblical love. We continue to look to Yah every day, waiting and trusting Him for answers (Micah 7:7). Why? Because love endures! Love hopes! LOVE PERSEVERES, PERSISTS, AND WAITS — TO THE END, to the promisedharvest.
We persistently plant our ‘prayer seeds’ – though hidden and often tearful, yet precious in Father’s sight: _They that SOW IN TEARS shall reap in joy. He that goes forth and weeps, BEARING PRECIOUS SEED, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, BRINGING HIS SHEAVES WITH HIM! (Psalms 126:5-6)_God IS love!
HIS LOVE IS PATIENT! Our enduring, patient, persistent prayers are the expression of HIS love. Thank you Father, for Your lovingkindness to hold me close to You. Help me to endure patiently, to wait with expectation for Your goodness, and to not give up my prayers nor my commitment to honour You in all I do. In Yahushua Messiah’s name I pray. Amen.—
* For a modern-day example of loving, patient, persistent prayer, I recommend reading the life story of Rees Howells, Intercessorby Norman Grubb.
