CURTISS TP-40N WARHAWK In production since 1940, the prewar P-40 “Tomahawk” was the primary front-line USAAF fighter when the Second World War began. It was relegated to second line status by late 1942, when the P-40 “Kittyhawk,” and subsequent variant the “Warhawk,” emerged. These fought in every theater of war until being replaced by more advanced models. The NORTH AMERICAN TP-51C MUSTANG These former fighter aircraft were used as a high speed transport and gave the Mustang pilot the ability to share the joy of flying the world’s greatest fighter with their trusted ground crews. The P-51 was developed by North American starting in early 1940 to satisfy a BOEING B-17G FLYING FORTRESS In 2015, the Evergreen Aviation and Space Museum in Oregon sold their B-17G Flying Fortress to help the Museum during a restructuring and reorganization. The Collings Foundation acquired this aircraft through the generous support of donors. At that time, a crew of mechanics and pilots were sent to the Museum to prepare the aircraft for MCDONNELL TA-4J SKYHAWK “The Skyhawk remains one of the most flexible mission aircraft ever produced.” With a diverse service life beginning in 1956 with an initial delivery to US Navy VA-72 Attack Squadron and extending into today as an aircraft still employed by many of the world’s air forces, the Douglas A MESSERSCHMITT ME-262 “The influence of this revolutionary jet can still be seen in contemporary aircraft.” The Messerschmitt ME-262 was the most important secret weapon of the Luftwaffe in their efforts of air combat superiority. Although often vewed as a last ditch super weapon, the Me 262 was already being developed as project P.1065 before thestart of
