Nov 19 @ 7:15 pm – 9:00 pm STROUD PRESERVATION TRUST’S ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 7.15 TUESDAY NOVEMBER 19TH AT THE CONGREGATIONAL HALL, BEDFORD STREET,STROUD GL5 1AY
WITH THE FOLLOWING TALK:- LANDSCAPES OF WOOL AND WATER An illustrated talk by Val Kirby This talk is about change. It explores how the landscapes of the Cotswolds and the Severn Vale were formed and evolved to their present forms. It traces the history of wool production and how the landscape changed as technology developed. It touches on the uses of Cotswold rivers and, eventually, canals. It explains how landscape change accelerated after the industrial revolution, and ends by asking how we will cope with even greater imminent changes, which require both adaptation and mitigation.
