HOW TO EASILY BUILD A WOODEN MANTEL SURROUND Step 1: Measure the size you need to cover the existing mantel. In our case, I chose 64″ wide and 10″ deep to have plenty of decorating room. Step 2: Choose your fence pickets (or wood pieces) and cut them with a Miter Saw so the edges look like the finished corners of a wellbuilt frame.

PATRIOTIC DECOR INSPIRATION AND IDEAS Two more Easy Decor Ideas. This idea below is super easy and patriotic. If you have a crock or pitcher with blue lines, simply add red ribbon and secure it with double sided sticky tape. If you have a pitcher with nothing on it, add a multi-colored ribbon to it. And my golly, those birds are beautiful! If you prefer bright bold color for fall but don’t want the typical orange, this combo is for you. HOW TO MAKE A NEST IN 5 EASY STEPS! Step 3: Decide what you want to add – twigs, boxwood stems, moss, etc. You can add all or some. Spray the extra pieces with the adhesive and place it where you want it. REPURPOSE A VINTAGE MILK CAN Here is what the vintage milk can looks like now. I could have sanded it or used a steel bristle brush to clean it but I like the added texture. The mouth on the can is large so adding a tray and using it as a side table was ideal. It holds my magazine, popcorn and lemonade perfectly. There are so many ideas for using a vintage milk can. The Mister found the new-to-me mantel on the Facebook Market Place for SUPER CUTE DIY CHICKEN WIRE CLOCHE! If it is separate, it’s okay, you can still use the chicken wire to secure it together. We started with a 40 inch square piece of chicken wire but measure yours first to decide how much you’ll need to go all the way around. This idea below is super easy and patriotic. If you have a crock or pitcher with blue lines, simply add red ribbon and secure it with double sided sticky tape. If you have a pitcher with nothing on it, add a multi-colored ribbon to it. Then drop in a couple of flags and voila! A MINIATURE BEE SKEP Step 4: With the small amount of rope left over, cut it off and hot glue it inside the top – tucking it inside. Step 5: Figure out how small you want the handle on the top and cut the length. Mine was about 3 inches. Step 6: Secure the handle to the top of the bee skep with hot glue on each end.
