FIGHTING POVERTY AND BUILDING COMMUNITY Fighting Poverty . Economic justice is a priority at Crossroads. We have led the fight for public policies that work to lift people out of poverty and provide a decent quality of life for all Utahns. Our programs include the Coalition, Coalition of Religious Communities, Powerful Moms Who Care, The Poplar Grove Neighborhood Alliance and the EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRIES Emergency Food Pantries. Crossroads’ Emergency Food Pantries distributes boxes that supply three days worth of food to hungry individuals. We specialize in supporting infant needs with formula, diapers and baby food. Food boxes are available at both our downtown location (347 S 400 East) and our Westside location (1358 W. IndianaAve).
OUR THRIFT STORE
History. Founded in 1966, the same year as the Crossroads Urban Center, the Thrift Store began with a mission to provide clothing and housing items to those in need. In 1997, the store’s building was officially dedicated the The Virginia B. Parmalee Community Center, named after the full-time volunteer who managed the store for 22years.
COALITION OF RELIGIOUS COMMUNITIES Coalition of Religious Communities (CORC) Donate. The Coalition of Religious Communities brings people together to learn about the causes of hunger and homelessness and to support policies that would reduce those forms of unnecessary suffering. We have an email called Hunger & Homelessness Weekly Update and a monthly meeting on Zoom. POWERFUL MOMS WHO CARE Powerful Moms Who Care (PMWC) is an organization of low-income women working toward safer communities and healthier families, especially for people living in extreme poverty and struggling with homelessness.
