Ever since the beginning of 2020, hate crimes towards Asian individuals have skyrocketed in numbers. The increase of these hate crimes was brought to the forefront of mainstream media after the 2021 Atlanta shootings at three different spa and massage parlors. OPINION: WHY WE SHOULD NORMALIZE DEATH Due to recent circumstances, there has been more death than usual. It has left a lot of people to grieve loved ones, either because of the pandemic itself or other causes. I, too, have recently had a family member die. Even without that, I always thought funeral rituals around the world were interesting. She frantically woke her family for a 40-minute drive to Bellingham, and waited eight hours in a hospital parking lot, unsure if her daughter would live. That date is a day to be remembered for Buffy and her family. It was the FRATERNITY TO CONSTRUCT NEW HOUSE Construction for a new house began on June 20 for the Sigma Chi Fraternity chapter at WSU, and it is expected to be finished in August 2020. Project Manager Jeff Burnside said they will build the house on the vacant lot at 720 NE California Street. Ever since the beginning of 2020, hate crimes towards Asian individuals have skyrocketed in numbers.
