Research is a key aspect of DARC’s mission, to inform action and provide knowledge in policy development and future project implementation. Development Alternatives and Resource Center (DARC) is in partnership with the International Training Center of International Labour Organization (ITCILO) to organize trainings for the microfinance sector in Nigeria. In 2006, Development Alternatives and Resource Center (DARC)with support from Ford Foundation hosted the successful Arts and Cultural Policy Dialogue with the aim of revising policies, developing policies and promulgating laws to protect heritage, monuments, creative products and artists. In November 2007, DARC also executed Untapped Resources; The Arts and Culture Conference brought ESTABLISHMENT OF MICROFINANCE AND ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT DARC assisted the Cross River State government in its desire to improve the economy of its people through various poverty alleviation strategies by setting up the Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency, (MEDA). This Agency will harness poverty alleviation schemes for the micro, small and medium entrepreneurs. Under this project, DARC has conducted profiling and baseline WORLD BANK PROJECT ON TRAINING OF CSO TO MONITOR PUBLIC DARC implemented a project to train Civil Society Organizations to monitor Public Procurement under the World Bank Small Grant Project. The objective is to build the capacity of Civil Society Organizations to promote civic engagement in raising compliance with international standard and best practice in public procurement in order to promote efficiency and effectiveness. Under MAKING MICROFINANCE WORK Development Alternatives and Resource Center (DARC) is in partnership with the International Training Center of International Labour Organization (ITCILO) to organize trainings for the microfinance sector in Nigeria. The training courses – Making Microfinance Work; Managing for Improved Performance and Making Microfinance Work; Managing Product Diversification (MMW), were designed by ITC ILO TRAVEL EXCHANGE MONITORING PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (TEMP) This program assists donors, development agencies, the private sector and their beneficiaries to co-ordinate projects such as: study tours and exchange visits, training and course participation, travel arrangements, program/project monitoring and supervision, and consultancy implementation. So far, the program has supported over 200 individuals and 85 organizations. Under TRAVEL EXCHANGE MONITORING PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (TEMP) This program assists donors, development agencies, the private sector and their beneficiaries to co-ordinate projects such as: study tours and exchange visits, training and course participation, travel arrangements, program/project monitoring and supervision, and consultancy implementation. In 2006, Development Alternatives and Resource Center (DARC)with support from Ford Foundation hosted the successful Arts and Cultural Policy Dialogue with the aim of revising policies, developing policies and promulgating laws to protect heritage, monuments, creative products and artists. In November 2007, DARC also executed Untapped Resources; The Arts and Culture Conference brought ESTABLISHMENT OF MICROFINANCE AND ENTERPRISE DEVELOPMENT DARC assisted the Cross River State government in its desire to improve the economy of its people through various poverty alleviation strategies by setting up the Microfinance and Enterprise Development Agency, (MEDA). This Agency will harness poverty alleviation schemes for the micro, small and medium entrepreneurs. Under this project, DARC has conducted profiling and baseline WORLD BANK PROJECT ON TRAINING OF CSO TO MONITOR PUBLIC DARC implemented a project to train Civil Society Organizations to monitor Public Procurement under the World Bank Small Grant Project. The objective is to build the capacity of Civil Society Organizations to promote civic engagement in raising compliance with international standard and best practice in public procurement in order to promote efficiency and effectiveness. Under TRAVEL EXCHANGE MONITORING PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM (TEMP) This program assists donors, development agencies, the private sector and their beneficiaries to co-ordinate projects such as: study tours and exchange visits, training and course participation, travel arrangements, program/project monitoring and supervision, and consultancy implementation. So far, the program has supported over 200 individuals and 85 organizations.* Home
