THE BEST TIME TO VISIT YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK You’ll want to consider things like the weather, what’s open, and crowds when choosing the best time to visit Yellowstone. Here are my suggestions if you’re hoping to: Beat the crowds: mid-late May or September. Travel during the summer: June. See lots of wildlife: mid-late May or September. Go backpacking: July or August. GREAT SMOKY MOUNTAINS ITINERARY Mary E. A typical 4-day self-guided tour of the Great Smokies costs $100, and a guided tour can cost $1,000+. Don’t pay that much to see the best of Great Smoky Mountains National Park — let me be your guide through the park for less than $10 a day! WHERE SHOULD I STAY WHILE VISITING YELLOWSTONE? West Entrance of Yellowstone (West Yellowstone) The West Entrance is an excellent jumping-off point for seeing some of the best geysers in the park! From here, you’re close to Norris, Old Faithful, and Grand Prismatic just to name a few. Because of its location, this entrance is usually my preferred place to stay near the park. WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL A visit in October is nice but can be unpredictable because of incoming winter weather. Most campgrounds within the park are closed for the season by the beginning of October. The Trail Ridge Road typically closes by mid-October. Autumn weather in Rocky Mountain is completely unpredictable. Be prepared for every kind of weather —rain, snow

The whole trail is a little long for a child of that age, unless she just absolutely loves to hike. The Peek-a-Boo Loop is definitely the most challenging section of this trail, so I might cut that part out and complete the Navajo Loop Wall Street section and then go straight to the Queens Garden. Some good hotel options in Tropic are the Red Ledges Inn or the Bryce Canyon Inn. If you want to stay in something besides a hotel room, check out the Happy Trails BnB or the BryceCountry Cabins.

Hiking is a special way to experience the magic of this national park, and this article is here to help you find the best easy hikes in Yellowstone! WHERE SHOULD I STAY WHILE VISITING YELLOWSTONE? West Entrance of Yellowstone (West Yellowstone) The West Entrance is an excellent jumping-off point for seeing some of the best geysers in the park! From here, you’re close to Norris, Old Faithful, and Grand Prismatic just to name a few. Because of its location, this entrance is usually my preferred place to stay near the park. HOW TO GET TO YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK (BEST AIRPORTS AND A route I recommend is Bozeman to West Yellowstone (1.5 hrs), explore Yellowstone with this itinerary, West Yellowstone to Jackson (3 hrs), explore Grand Teton with this itinerary, Jackson to Gardiner (4 hrs), and then Gardiner back to Bozeman (1.5 hrs). Here are my suggestions if you’re hoping to: Beat the crowds: mid-late May or September. Travel during the summer: June. See lots of wildlife: mid-late May or September. To get here from downtown Moab, drive approximately 12 miles north on Highway 191.
