Rhodes offers a vast selection of any type of beach you can imagine. All have two common features: crystal clear waters, absolutely fantastic landscapes. Places to visit. ARCHEOLOGICAL SITES ON RHODES Probably the most important archeological site on the island is the unfortified ancient town of Kamiros, one of the three Dorian cities founded on the island, located on the southwest part of the island. But it is the magnificent Acropolis of Lindos, built on rock over the village, accessible only on foot or with a donkey, the most visitedone.
THE EAST COAST OF RHODES The east coast of Rhodes. While the west coast of Rhodes is subject to shore winds and at times can be rough, a windsurfer’s paradise, the east coast is more sheltered and usually, only affected by moderate winds. It is the most popular side of the island for its fantastic resorts and the wide selection of any type of beach. THE ACROPOLIS OF RHODES The Acropolis of Rhodes is one of the most interesting and enjoyable archeological sites one can visit. Located close to the city and surrounded by a pristine nature with fabulous views, is the favorite jogging and walking place for modern Rhodians. The lower part FILERIMOS – DISCOVER RHODES Filerimos. Mt. Filerimos (Philerimos, Φιλέρημος), just outside the capital Rhodes (15km), is a hill 267m. high, overlooking the small town of Ialyssos and the bay of Ixia and Trianda. From its top you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Aegean with turquoise waters near the shore and deep blue as it stretches toward coast of the AsiaMinor.

Kolymbia (Greek: Κολύμπια) is a sun-soaked resort in an idyllic place between mountains and the sea with a fine beach for watersports, a few shops and plenty of peace and quiet. THE COLOSSUS OF RHODES The Colossus of Rhodes is one of the famous Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. It was built between the years 292 and 280 BC, to commemorate the successful outcome of the war against the troops of Demetrios Poliorcetes (The Besieger), one of the epigones (epigoni) of Alexander the Great.
