HOW DOES HUMAN TRAFFICKING WORK? The International Labour Organization states that over 40 million humans are trafficked around the world and that human trafficking is estimated to be a $150 billion industry. Many of us shake our heads at these statistics as we sit comfortably on our couches and sip a $5 latte, and we wonder how someone could find themselves ensnared in a human trafficking scheme. WHAT IS ORGAN TRAFFICKING? Organ Trafficking is one of the lesser known forms of trafficking mostly because there is a lack of reliable information about it. In the U.S. there has been only one man convicted of this crime back in 2012. Jayson's Story: False promises, migrant workers & trafficking. Jayson is a human trafficking survivor from the Philipines. In 2008, he was given a job offer in the US by a woman his uncle knew.
