HSI 2019-2020
In this series, we provide an analysis of three groups of institutions: 1) Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs), 2) Emerging Hispanic Institutions (eHSIs), and 3) HSIs with Graduate Programs (gHSIs) based on publicly available data for 2019-20. Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) are defined in federal legislation as accredited, degree-granting public or private nonprofit institutions of WHY LATINO STUDENT SUCCESS IS IMPORTANT Some believe a focus on race and ethnicity divides us as a society. EVENT: HTTPS://WWW.EDEXCELENCIA.ORG/2020-CELEBRACION New Analysis on Ensuring America's Future: Latino College Completion During these challenging times, _Excelencia_ in Education remains committed to Ensuring America’s Future by increasing Latino college completion. _Excelencia’s_ most recent analysis of public data on enrollment, degree completion, and degree attainment show that Latino student enrollment and degree completion continues to increase. Yet to close the equity gap in degree completion, the United States requires a tactical plan to reach the Latino degree attainment goal of 6.2 million degrees earned by 2030. This plan must include strategies to help Latinos accelerate degree completion while supporting increased attainment for all students.
