TASTE TEST: COOKIES AND CREAM ICE CREAM Sara Lee Cookies and Cream. This brand is the most blended and homogeneous of the three, with less chunks — with the notable exception of some BIG chunks of cookie in the centre of the tub. This inconsistency didn’t please me. Plus the big chunks were meh — a bit soggy. The flavour of the ice cream is nice though.ELLEN GREGORY

SOUTH WEST COAST PATH: MARAZION TO MULLION Back in October I spent a couple of weeks hiking the UK's South West Coast Path in Cornwall -- from St Ives to Falmouth. The complete distance is 102 miles (according to the South West Coast Path website). I wrote about the first stage of my journey while taking a couple of rest days inD&D CHRONICLES
Broadly speaking, the campaign centred around rumours of the rise of Varrien, the goddess of destruction. The two Eyes of Varrien, needed to raise the goddess, took the form of large red magical gemstones, hidden separately and lost to time. In part 3, we pick up the tale just as Harry Gregory (my paternal grandfather, a Sergeant in the British Army) and a New Zealand sergeant called ‘Smithy’, who have been prisoners in the German POW camp Stalag 383, have decided they will NOT participate in a long forced march acrossGermany
BUT WHAT IF HOGWARTS REALLY DOES EXIST? But what if Hogwarts really does exist? Posted on February 20, 2013February 21, 2013. by. Ellen Gregory. Last year, I gave my nine year old niece the first Harry Potter book for her birthday. She wasn’t much of a bookworm in fact, she preferred books on science or the natural world. Nonetheless, I decided to impose my love of HarryPotter

HARRY’S WWII MEMOIR: CAPTURE AND THE CATTLE TRUCK Cattle truck, 50 men, one bucket. The journey through the Brenner Tunnel was held up for two days and two nights. We were given to understand that the R.A.F. was bombing the line just north of the Tunnel and it was not safe for the train to leave — so GET OVER IT: ENGLISH IS A LIVING LANGUAGE Get over it: English is a living language. Recently, a press release from the Plain English Foundation crossed my desk at work and immediately snagged my attention. It was titled “Fugitive emissions” tops the list of 2011’s worst words and highlighted such iniquities as Nicole Kidman’s “gestational carrier” and theobfuscation
THE BEACH HAS MANY FACES I've just returned from spending the Easter long weekend at our family holiday house down at Phillip Island. At least once every visit I like to walk into town (Cowes) along the beach for breakfast. And every time I make this little half-hour pilgrimage for coffee and eggs, I MIXADVENTURES WITH WW MEALS I’ve been on WW (aka weight watchers) since February, and although my progress has been a bit up and down, it’s mostly been down to the tune of more than 10kg.
