PAINTING MDF: QUICK TIP I recently made a bench with MDF and when it came time to painting it, I had trouble getting a smooth finish at the ends of the MDF boards – all the paint was sinking into the MDF leaving a rough finish.. Here’s an easy fix I discovered which works like a charm: dilute some wood glue with a little bit of water and apply it with a brush onthe ends.
EASILY REVERSIBLE BASEMENT RENOVATION Damaged walls and a worn out stained carpet were just some of the challenges in this makeover but with lots of creative and inexpensive projects that are also easily reversible, is was transformed from a dark and neglected basement into a bright and inspiring creative space where I can experiment and test out new design ideas. Loving to cook and having a tiny kitchen can sometimes seem like 2 things that don't go together, but there's ways to make every single cubic inch of that small kitchen work harder for you. DIY UPHOLSTERY WITH A CANVAS DROP CLOTH Give a tired chair a fresh new look by reupholstering it with canvas drop cloths – they have a great natural texture, are really easy to work with and at about $10 for 6ft x 9ft, it’s an inexpensive way to experiment. And if you have a cat that likes to use your chair as EASY STORAGE SOLUTION FOR YOUR CLAMPS I have lots of tools in my tool box and one of the things I seem to always be reaching for are my clamps. So here’s the latest solution I came up with to keep them organized and within easy reach: A simple embroidery hoop (you only need either the outside or inside ring) RENTER-FRIENDLY CURTAIN ROD BRACKET The one thing missing was curtains to dress up the window. To install the curtain rod I thought about using No-No brackets that go directly on the vertical blind track. I did this in my bedroom and it’s a great option to avoid making holes in the wall. This time I wanted to hang my curtains higher up above the window, because doing that actually makes the window look a lot taller.
