EPHESUS HISTORY
Ephesus was ruled by the Lydian king, Kreisos, in the mid 6BC. The city reached the "Golden Age" and became a good model to the Antic World in culture and art, as well. As the detailed excavations have not completed yet, apart from the Artemis, the remains of that age haven’t been revealed. Later, Ephesus was dominated by Persians. WHAT MAKES EPHESUS SO SPECIAL The Ephesus everybody visits was founded in 4th.century B.C., but the first city-it is believed there has been at least 5 cities- dates back to 10th century B.C. Half a mile away from the ruins of Ephesus, in Cukurhoyuk, which is a mound, archaeologists unearthed artifacts dating back to 6200 B.C.
