BILLY ELLIOT is a coming-of-age story of a young boy, Billy, who through his unexpected love of dance, embarks on a journey of self-discovery in the world of picket lines, cultural stereotypes, a family in crisis and a headstrong ballet teacher. When eleven-year-old Billy stumbles across a local ballet class that comes to share the village hall with his boxing club, something in the magic of PARADISE: LOVE / PARADIES: LIEBE PARADISE: LOVE, the first film of the PARADISE trilogy takes place on Kenya’s beaches. Known there as “sugar mamas”, European women seek out African boys selling love to earn a living. Teresa, a 50-year-old Austrian woman, travels to this vacation paradise. PARADISE: LOVE tells of older women and young men, of Europe and Africa, and of the exploited, who end up exploiting others. GIGI, MONICA ET BIANCA You have to realize that a street child leads the life of a dog. He is beaten, spends whole days begging, but it doesn't make him give up hope, so long as you let him have his station. A powerful virus is unleashed on the British public following a raid on a primate research facility by animal rights activists. Transmitted in a drop of blood and devastating within seconds, the virus locks those infected into a permanent state of murderous rage. With 28 days the country is overwhelmed and a handful of survivors begin their attempts to salvage a future, little realising that FACING WINDOW / LA FINESTRA DI FRONTE Night in Rome. An October evening of a precise year, 1943. A Young Man that works in a bakery shop grabs a Bakery Boy from behind and slashes his throat with a kitchen knife. To defend himself, the victim grabs the aggressor's face and scratches his cheek. Bleeding, the killer runs down the street, evidently looking for something. At a crossroad, not sure of where to go, he pauses a momentDIRTY PRETTY THINGS
From Stephen Frears, the Oscar-nominated director of "The Grifters," "Dangerous Liaisons" and "High Fidelity," comes a new film set in London's secret underworld, where everything is for sale. It's the story of a young man Okwe (Chiwetel Ejiofor) and young woman Senay (Audrey Tautou), who work at the same hotel—a breeding ground for illegal activity.
