OUR STORY - EVESHAM WOOD Evesham Wood was founded by Russ and Mary Raney in 1986. After a comprehensive search throughout the Willamette Valley, they chose a site for the estate vineyard, “Le Puits Sec” (French for “the dry well” which we have in the vineyard). 2012 EVESHAM WOOD PINOT NOIR ILLAHE VINEYARD we recently opened a bottle of 2012 Pinot Noir Illahe Vineyard and am happy to say it was showing beautifully. That intense concentration is finally starting to wane revealing an underlying delicacy as it starts to flirt with secondary flavors. We have a bit of 2012 Pinot Noir Illahe Vineyard stashed away as well as some other single vineyards from 2013 and 2014. 20 cases available 2018 HADEN FIG CHARDONNAY JULIETTE 2018’s growing-degree day total of close to 2300 misleads our expectation of the wines and highlights the difficulties of using it to describe this year from that. (For comparison the 2016 and 2017 vintages were 15% warmer than the 30y average and just below 2600.) The last vintage that was in this range was 2012.
