BOOK REVIEW: REMEMBERING ELIO BY LORIE COFFEY Remembering Elio by Lorie Coffey is another great book from the consistently excellent motorsport publisher Coterie Press. This book is one of my favorites and sits just outside my top 10 all time favorite book list. The hallmark of most Coterie Press books is a heavy quality hardcover full of detailed photography and in-depthresearch.
RARE AND HARD TO FIND MINICHAMPS F1 DIECASTS Hi there. I have a collection of Michael Schumacher bits n bobs from when I was an obsessed fan during the 90’s. I have acquired a few models but two are of particular note that I am interested in finding out more information about. WHAT ARE AUTOCOURSE BOOKS WORTH? Not offering, Rob, but if they’re mint, I’d insure the set for about Ј600-ish. As with the late fifties Autocourse magazines, the last few editions of Lou Stanley’s annuals are the scarcer books, but are worth less than the early ones. F1 DIECAST REVIEW: AMALGAM FERRARI F2008 1:8 SCALE F1 diecast review: Amalgam Ferrari F2008 1:8 scale. At the top end of the F1 diecast replica models would be Amalgam Collection – their mainstream F1 diecasts are in 1:8 scale and they also produce 1:5 and 1:12 scales. RARE BOOK REVIEW: THE GREAT CHALLENGE It’s taken more than 5 years but finally the 200th book review milestone on this site is here! I figured I had better save a decent book for the 200th review and decided that Volume 4 (The Senna era) of Rainer Schlegelmilch and Dieter Streve-Mulhens excellent “The Great Challenge” book series would be a worthy title (not to detract from the excellence of the other 4 volumes).BOOK REVIEW: SHUNT
I haven’t seen the new Rush movie yet but when I do it will be interesting to compare it to Tom Rubython’s Shunt -The Story of James Hunt.A better comparison might be Tom Rubython’s other book “In the Name of Glory – 1976 The Greatest Ever Sporting Duel” which I have yet to read.Shunt is probably the most indepth researched biography of James Hunt. BOOK REVIEW: AYRTON SENNA THE LAST NIGHT Published in 2016, ‘ Ayrton Senna – The Last Night ’ is another dedicated photo book on the career of the great Brazilian (this time through the photo collection of Italian reporter/photographer Ercolo Colombo). Physically, this hardcover is a landscape oriented book- at 160 pages, the layout for the majority of this book is 1 photo perpage.
BOOK REVIEW: AYRTON SENNA ALL HIS RACES BY TONY DODGINS Tony Dodgins’ “ Ayrton Senna All His Races ” is somewhat similar to other books chronicling a world champion’s racing career like Chris Hilton’s “ Michael Schumacher – The Definitive Race by Race Record ” and Jon Saltinstall’s “ Niki Lauda His Competition History ”. “Ayrton Senna All His Races” is a BOOK REVIEW: AYRTON SENNA Ayrton Senna through my eye by Paul-Henri Cahier is another very smart looking hardcover photo book album dedicated to the great Brazilian driver. Most people would have seen Paul-Henri Cahier’s photography featured in many publications (including Autocourse) and, of course, he is also the son of one of F1’s most famous F1 photographers,Bernard Cahier.
RARE BOOK REVIEW: SENNA One of the harder to find photo books on Ayrton Senna is ‘Senna: Portrait of a Racing Legend‘.This medium-large square hardcover book is similar in size but slightly bigger than Paul Henri-Cahier’s photobook ‘Ayrton Senna – through my eye‘ (reviewed back in 2012). This book is consists of a chapter of Senna’s early karting and racing then like many Senna books, a chapter for each F1-NUT.COM | A REVIEW SITE FOR FORMULA 1 BOOK AND MODELABOUTHOW TO USE THIS SITECONTACTNEW COLLECTOR GUIDESREVIEW ARCHIVE INDEXDRIVINGTECHNIQUES

BOOK REVIEW: 50 YEARS OF FORMULA 1 PHOTOGRAPHY BY RAINER 50 Years is by far, one of the largest and heaviest book in my collection weighing in at a mere 5.1 kgs (approx 11 lbs) and 660+ pages. Physically, its actually a very heavy book to handle. Könemann, the publisher, have beautifully bound the book with a blurred action shot of Massa’s Ferrari on the dustjacket cover. While secondary market values for collectors has declined for mass produced models like Minichamps due to re-releases and flat market conditions, the more detailed Exoto and CMC 1:18 scale cars have managed to retain theirvalues.

BOOK REVIEW: AYRTON SENNA ALL HIS RACES BY TONY DODGINS As we head into this weekend’s GP at Imola, for better or worse, this circuit now forever reminds fans of Ayrton Senna. There have been so many Senna books published, it’s often difficult to distinguish between the them and unlike drivers who have retired, unearthing more Senna content that hasn’t already been written isn’t easy. F1 DIECAST 1:18 REVIEW: MINICHAMPS VS EXOTO In the 1:18 scale pre-assembled grand prix model car category, most collectors are usually faced with a choice between Exoto, CMC, Quartzoor Minichamps.

BOOK REVIEW: AYRTON SENNA Although Keith Sutton’s “Ayrton Senna: A Personal Tribute” is a relatively small book compared to the larger and more expensive Senna photo books available, I still regard it as one of the best and affordable Senna book that has been published. If you are looking for a comprehensive photobook covering most phases of Ayrton Senna’s career then this is probably the one.* Home
