The exhibition will include shoes worn by iconic figures from British cultural life, including actors Noel Coward and Margaret Lockwood, music hall star Fred Kitchen, ballerinas Margot Fonteyn and Alicia Markova, and Nicola Adams in Strictly Come Dancing 2020 . Shoephoria! aims to present a new way of looking at A HISTORY OF FASHION IN 100 OBJECTS A History of Fashion in 100 Objects is a major display celebrating fashion from the 1600s to the present day. Showcasing 100 star objects drawn from the Fashion Museum’s world-class collection, these displays give visitors an instant insight into the era-defining outfits and headline pieces that have shaped our wardrobes over thepast 400 years.

Over 90 dresses from the mid-1960s to the mid-1970s, arguably Laura Ashley's heyday, were presented in a sea LUCY LOCKET AND POCKETS Lucy Locket and Pockets Here’s a nursery rhyme you may know Lucy Locket lost her pocket, Kitty Fisher found it; Not a penny was there in it, Only ribbon round it. The Assembly Rooms are lit by a set of nine chandeliers, made for the building in 1771. Today they are considered to be one of the finest sets to have survived from the 18th century. Shoephoria! will run into 2022. The exhibition will include shoes worn by iconic figures from British cultural life, including actors Noel Coward and Margaret Lockwood, music hall star Fred Kitchen, ballerinas Margot Fonteyn and Alicia Markova, and Nicola Adams in Strictly Come Dancing 2020 . The museum shop is on the ground floor of the Assembly Rooms and can be visited independently of the Fashion Museum. The shop will be open on the exit route only and visitors must keep a safe distance while shopping.
