A forum community dedicated to Factory Five owners and enthusiasts. Come join the discussion about performance, racing, conversions, modifications, troubleshooting and drivetrain. We discuss MK4, GTM, 818, Type 65 coupe, roadsters, and more! WHO ELSE HAS HAD THIS FITECH PROBLEM? Who else has had this FITECH problem? UPDATED - RUNS! Let me preface, I did alot of research, and tried a few of the solutions, just posting here for more information and experiences. Just re-assembled the motor, mechanically the motor is fine. I have the 600HP system with the Fuel Commander. Fuel commander is under-hood, rear center behindengine.
STRAIGHT AXLE OR IRS? What I basically came down to (as is reflected above) is that the IRS is better in every way over the straight axle - only downside is cost (and it can be a significant cost increase). That said, I personally decided to go with the IRS because it is one of the few items that you can't really retrofit after the fact (unlike Wilwoods and the like WHAT ARE EASYEST / HARDEST COLORS TO PAINT YOURSELF Black is probably the hardest because the body needs to be really straight, black will show all the imperfections, this is also true to a lesser degree, with any of the darker colors. The new basecoat paints are much more forgiving but they are only as good as the underlying body work. Spend your time on the body and your effort willshow in

If you're going to measure out 20* of rotation on the floor, the center point of the arc should at the pivot point of the tire. That would be at the king pin/ball joint. If you watch how the wheel turns, you see that the tire contact patch moves in an arc. Eddie: Consider this your official Holley info. The solid side with the hole in it toward the float bowl is the correct way. I would recommend that you pitch those in carb filters and go with an external filter of some kind. The early E-M's are what I call a "flat chassis" design which usually means fiberglass cockpit tub with NO reinfocement framing above the main rails. I don't have a good picture of their original chassis other than the photo in an old "The Complete Guide to CobraReplicas".

All new parts were used except for the Engine block which was completely gone through with all new internals, stroked and STEERING RACK: TURNS LOCK TO LOCK VS RATIO? Hello Guys, I have the front suspension installed and am ready for the power steering rack to go in. I've decided to use a rebuilt rack and pinion, rather than the nasty old one I got from the salvage yard. The old one I have is from a 1991 non-GT and it measures 2.5 turns lock tolock. I
DEMON CARB IDENTIFICATION The Road Demon is a good replacment for most road cars; typically has an eletric choke for the primaries. The Speed Demon is next and the eletric choke is optional. TKO: 375 ft/lbs torque rating, 26 spline input shaft, 31 spline output shaft. Gear ratios are identical. ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE The transfer slot is the rectangular orifice right where the throttle blade rests at idle. WHERE ARE ADDITIONAL OIL PORTS ON MY 302? 5,872 Posts. #11 · Mar 31, 2011 (Edited) Then that port is your best place for oil pressure if you don't use a remote oil filter. The most common places for oil pressure is the block and a remote filter, the best places for the temp is the block, a remote filter or the pan. STRAIGHT AXLE OR IRS? What I basically came down to (as is reflected above) is that the IRS is better in every way over the straight axle - only downside is cost (and it can be a significant cost increase). That said, I personally decided to go with the IRS because it is one of the few items that you can't really retrofit after the fact (unlike Wilwoods and the like WHAT ARE EASYEST / HARDEST COLORS TO PAINT YOURSELF Black is probably the hardest because the body needs to be really straight, black will show all the imperfections, this is also true to a lesser degree, with any of the darker colors. NEED HELP TUNING PROFORM 750 CARB! ANYONE OUT THERE HAVE The transfer slot is the rectangular orifice right where the throttle blade rests at idle. What you need to do is pull the carb and look from the bottom. the blade should cover the slot, such that it appears as a square when viewed from below (about .020 DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TREMEC 3550 AND TKO? 392fia, Tr3550: 350 ft/lbs torque rating, 10 spline input shaft, 28 spline output shaft. TKO: 375 ft/lbs torque rating, 26 spline input shaft, 31 spline output shaft. Gear ratios are identical. What he told me was that all it does is straighten the wheels faster. Anything over 3 or so with ps is just going to wear the tires out extremely fast so that is what i had him set mine to.FINDING TDC ON 302
What is the best method of detemining TDC on a 302 with the heads on. My dampener does not have a timing mark. To do rough timings, I have used the straw in the cylinder, but this does not seem to be too exact, as there is some flex in the straw, especially given the angle.I have not seen a

The upgrades on the 5.0 and 5.2 seem to be the same. Love all the upgrades, but do not know if I can realize the benefits in such a light car. I place the brackets on the dash before covering with flat head screws, so they're invisible if you get them perfectly flat. Also locate them where they're reachable with anextension

STRAIGHT AXLE OR IRS? What I basically came down to (as is reflected above) is that the IRS is better in every way over the straight axle - only downside is cost (and it can be a significant cost increase). What he told me was that all it does is straighten the wheels faster. Anything over 3 or so with ps is just going to wear the tires out extremely fast so that is what i had him set mine to. HOOD GAP TERRIBLE.
Factory Five Roadsters Was ready to start the hood gap trimming on the cobra. When installing the rough hood, the gap around the corners is so badly cut on top,right and bottom left...that I don’t even know how to start the trimming process.
