While the intuitiveness of a particular language is somewhat subjective, criticism of Hugo’s template syntax frequently comes up in discussion with other developers. Hugo is a great choice for a static site generator: it’s compiled into a static binary, so it’s easy to install on any system, and it’sfast.

Build Commands allow you to customize how Forestry builds your website when it creates a preview or before it deploys your site. Build commands are optional for all projects. Jekyll and Hugo projects have a default build configuration that will be followed when custom build commands are not provided. VuePress and all other project types will simply not have preview and deployment capabilities unless a build configuration is defined. September 11, 2018 docsSUNSET NOTICES

PROJECT STRUCTURE
In Hugo, project structure and naming is fairly rigid other than content structure. You must follow the Hugo guidelines for where content, layouts, data, and static assets must be stored. Inside your content folder, you create the structure and organization that works for you. For example, a Hugo site may look like this: . ├── archetypes/ ├── config.yml ├── data/ | └── members.yml ├── layouts/ | ├── footer.html | └──header.
