The Heritage Tree Program collects and tells the stories of Ontario’s unique trees. Launched in 2009 in partnership with the Ontario Urban Forest Council, the program brings awareness to the social, cultural, historical and ecological value of trees.. For a tree to qualify, it must be associated with a historic person or event, or be growing on historically significant land. BIRD IDENTIFICATION GUIDE Bird Identification Guide. This handy Ontario Envirothon resource will introduce you to the variety of birds you can find in Ontario. There are many key identification features and characteristics that can help determine which bird species you are viewing. These include physical features, such as colour, size, beak shape and foot shape, as well FRESHWATER FISH OF ONTARIO GUIDE Beyond that, there is a great variety of characteristics to be found in any community of fish. This guide includes information on 11 species of important fish found in Ontario, and touches on species at risk, invasive species, and game fish.
