GARAGE STUDIOS
Garage Studios is located in a pavilion at VDNKh, which was built in 1939 as a model school for 280 students. In the 1950s, it was converted into a polyclinic, to which an extension was added in 1970–1971 that housed an x-ray and diagnostics department. OPEN CALL TO TAKE PART IN GARAGE STUDIOS' YEARLONG PROGRAM Garage announces an open call to take part in a 12-month residency at Garage Studios and Artist Residencies, beginning mid-August 2021. The increase in the duration of the program and the amount of support is based on the belief that such a format will have a stronger impact on both the trajectory of residents’ artistic careers and theircreative practices.
THE COMING WORLD: ECOLOGY AS THE NEW POLITICS 2030–2100 The Coming World: Ecology as the New Politics 2030–2100 is a major exhibition project that brings together historical and new works by over 50 Russian and international artists and will occupy the entire museum building. It takes a look at a future already in the making, when the environmental agenda will become one of the main politicalquestions.
