REFLECTIONS ON LOCK DOWN LEARNING Reflections on Lock Down Learning. In a recent New Zealand Herald article, Lockdown learning: 'I'm not going through that again!', Education reporter Simon Collins gives an insightful overview of what whānau and ākonga experienced during New Zealand's first lockdown, and how they plan to approach the recent Level 3 and future lockdowns GCSN 2020 PROJECTS AND PARTNERSHIPS GCSN work to Bridge the Digital Divide by providing schools, ākonga, and kaiako opportunities to learn more about and experience Digital Technologies.We are proud to be part of the follow projects and partnerships, that are open to ākonga, kaiako, whanau and schools in REMOTE TEACHING SUPPORT Remote Teaching Support. The world has shifted dramatically over the past weeks with Covid-19 sending the country into rahui, causing routines to be disrupted and an uncertainty of when they will return to normal. The way we approach teaching and the routines for Kaiako and ākonga' has also been affected with a shift towards remoteteaching.

ConnectED Haeata is a WiFi solution giving 360 ākonga access to educational WiFi at no cost in their homes. 360 students from Haeata now have access to educational WiFi from their homes at no cost. Engaging strongly with technology is becoming fundamental to being a #GCSNMEDIA4GOOD CAMPAIGN The GCSN Trust has been allocated funding to support 29 schools which sit under the TToM Project. There is a TToM Committee which has been formed to ensure that the schools get what they need, this consists of a representative from each school community. Arnika Macphail - Program Manager for the GCSN Trust chairs this committee. From the Term 2 TToM Committee meeting in 2019 the committee MEET OUR CONNECTED HAEATA WHĀNAU ENGAGEMENT TEAM ConnectED Haeata is a collaboration project that provides free WiFi to over 360 Haeata students. This has been made possible by the combined effort of the project team including GCSN, Chorus, Network 4 Learning, Haeata, the Ministry of Education, Cyclone, and our most funders including Todd Foundation, Rātā Foundation, Kelliher Charitable Trust, Pub Charity and One Foundation. CONNECTED HAEATA
ConnectED Haeata is a WiFi solution giving 360 ākonga access to educational WiFi at no cost in their homes. 360 students from Haeata now have access to educational WiFi from their homes at no cost. Engaging strongly with technology is becoming fundamental to being a INSPIRING A LOVE OF TECH FOR BETTER FUTURES Spend the day experiencing and immersed in the new emerging STEAM Technologies that inspire learning and compliments the Digital Technologies curriculum content, and expands or opens new future pathways that align with the High-Tech Supernode. TE TIHI O TE MĀTAURANGA Te Tihi o te Mātauranga. GCSN has supported over 3000 hours of one-to-one and small group professional learning and development to our 29 member schools since 2015. Support is tailored to the needs and aspirations of individual schools and teachers. GCSN is supported by Ministry of Education funding to provide one-to-one and small group DIGITAL EQUITY FOR ALL Digital equity is where all students, regardless of location, position in society or income of the family have equal access to digital technologies and the opportunities this access can bring. MEET OUR CONNECTED HAEATA WHĀNAU ENGAGEMENT TEAM ConnectED Haeata is a collaboration project that provides free WiFi to over 360 Haeata students. This has been made possible by the combined effort of the project team including GCSN, Chorus, Network 4 Learning, Haeata, the Ministry of Education, Cyclone, and our most funders including Todd Foundation, Rātā Foundation, Kelliher Charitable Trust, Pub Charity and One Foundation.*
