SCOTTISH COSMOPOLITANISM AT THE FIN DE SIECLE The Project This project explores Scotland’s artistic and cultural links with other countries at the end of the nineteenth century. Led by by Matthew Creasy (University of Glasgow) and Michael Shaw (University of Stirling), it was funded by the Royal Society ofEdinburgh.
MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS' WARDROBE A later inventory, dated 1578, lists the residue of Mary’s clothing and jewels stored in Edinburgh Castle and there is some overlap with the 1562 inventory. Mary had substantial parts of her wardrobe forwarded to England but what was left behind is still impressive: in addition to 47 gowns are petticoats, skirts and doublets with gold and EDITING ROBERT BURNS FOR THE 21ST CENTURY ‘Editing Robert Burns for the 21st Century’ is a major project which will underpin the production of a multi-volume edition of The Works of Robert Burns being published by Oxford University Press. Based at The Centre for Robert Burns Studies at the University of Glasgow, we commenced work on the new multi-volume edition following an award of £1.1 million by the Arts and Humanities MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS PROJECT | The Abdication of Mary, Queen of Scots by Gavin Hamilton (1723-1798) held in The Hunterian’s Collection. Welcome to the project website for ‘In my end is my beginning’, a two-year research network mapping the presence of Mary Queen of Scots (1542-1587) in Scottish heritage collections. UNIVERSITY OF GLASGOW :: WORLD CHANGING:: MINISTER OF She was Minister of Pensions and National Insurance (which post was renamed Social Security in 1966) from 1964 until she resigned office in 1967.
